What's up, Ray? How are you doing? I'm doing well. You? Good. Let me just shoot one text out. Speaker 2 00:00:19 Are you getting off work. Speaker 1 00:00:21 What's that. Speaker 2 00:00:22 Are you getting off work right now. Speaker 1 00:00:24 Kind of. I've been driving for half an hour now, like that, 40 minutes, but they just responded to me going, said, hey, what's up with that problem I showed, you know, I pointed out. It's like, oh, it's not a problem. I'll explain to you tomorrow. It's like, well, yeah, but the whole point was I couldn't get my, my dimensions because of that problem. So what is it? You know. Speaker 2 00:00:46 So. Yeah. You just let me know. Speaker 3 00:00:48 That shouldn't have a spot to. Speaker 1 00:01:03 Okay, I'm good now yeah, how's it going. Speaker 2 00:01:09 Good, I'd say it's okay About what you're like clump of cells or something like they found some like cancer or something right that went fast, Yeah, no workshop. How do you feel like. Speaker 1 00:01:35 All right, so let me explain it um when you're 45 You there's two major cancers that get men at 45 and that's prostate and colon and so, The trip is that buddy of mine that I work with 71. Found, got a test, and, you know, you know what a polyp is, right? Speaker 1 00:02:11 Polyp? Yeah. Think of it like, think of it like a balloon or like a mushroom coming off of your skin, right? Like on the inside. Okay. And they'll go in and they'll just be like, they'll snip it at the base, right? And then they'll, and your body will just like naturally develop these. And the deformations, and they're usually precancerous, right? And usually they test them and they say, yeah, it's precancerous, but there's nothing in it, so you're good. Speaker 1 00:02:46 So it's like, kind of like, you know, think of it like an internal mole on some level, you know? Okay. So when, you know, so the prostate is easy. You just do a blood test. but for the colon they gotta they gotta stick you you know so you gotta get a colonoscopy, you know that is no oh nice okay we're gonna have some fun so uh essentially they stick a camera up. Speaker 1 00:03:21 your butt they knock you out they stick a camera up your butt but okay okay but it's got to be clean right so you spend like the day before the day of and the day before essentially not eating and making yourself you know poop as much as possible right and but at some point in time and it's not poop anymore you you are peeing from your anus you know like every hour yeah. Speaker 2 00:04:00 So did they give you something to take to help you poop. Speaker 1 00:04:07 Yeah, so you're. Yeah, so. the, What you take is it's like Miralax. So you take like a gas thing you take a gut thing a pill and you take Miralax and, And you gotta take a lot of it. like eight. Speaker 1 00:04:43 servings of it. And that's the worst part. I mean honestly the surgery itself or the procedure I should call it is nothing you go in hook you up you got to show up an hour and a half early and. you know you wait around till they call you back they hook you up you undress you put on a little gown you know they wheel you in and knock you out right you wake up um i didn't even go to sleep. Speaker 1 00:05:16 afterwards i was just like i felt like i was drunk you know like uh i felt oh that's a story too if, you want to know the story about the first time i got a colonoscopy for no reason i happily tell you that what's the first time the first time they were digging for stuff they were they couldn't figure out something and you know and they never figured out anything and it's like we've tested you for everything you're fine like okay but so okay so so i think i was 28 29 ashley and. Speaker 1 00:05:56 because they were they were fishing right like that ultimately my poop was like really soft and i'm like is this right you know and he's like no it's not and so let's take this test take distance you know finally he's like i crossed everything off the list except for this you know so so they knock me out i wake up you know i pop off of. Speaker 1 00:06:28 that stuff like like it's nothing you know um we're walking in the car and uh and ashland starts walking in the driver's seat and i'm like what are you doing and and by the way i don't i don't remember all this right but i remember like flashes and i'm like what are you doing and she's like i'm driving it's like no you're not i'm driving i'm fine, And she's like, no, you're not. And so I ended up, like, getting pissed off and going, whatever, you know, Speaker 1 00:07:02 and, like, walking around to the passenger side. And so we get home, and I wake up. So I go to sleep. I wake up, like, an hour later. And now, mind you, you haven't eaten in, like, two days. So I'm like, hey, I'm starving. Let's go get some food, you know. And she's like, yeah, that's fine, but do you mind if I drive? And I'm like, no, I don't care if you drive. Speaker 1 00:07:32 Why? And she's like, you sure? And I'm like, yeah, why? She's like, you know. And she's like, well, you gave me some problems about driving, right? And so I'm like, oh, I'm sorry, you know. So I walk around to the passenger side. And I open up the door and and there's like towels all over the seat and I'm like, what's up with the towels? And she's like, do you really not remember anything? And I'm like, I remember like flashes, like, you know, like I remember, I remember walking up to the car. I remember exiting the driveway. I remember having a fart and she goes, that was not a fart. Speaker 1 00:08:26 And she's like, you shat everywhere. She's like, so while you've been sleeping, I've been cleaning the car. And I'm like, oh man, I'm so sorry, babe. You pick where we're going to eat, babe. I got you. So yeah, man, so okay, so fast-forward they do the same thing again. Speaker 1 00:08:58 I actually woke up during this procedure and like watch them stare at this polyp that they found right and, And the next thing yeah, dude. It's the second time. I've woken up in the middle of the middle of a procedure, I'm telling you this stuff like it doesn't You know like even pain meds and stuff like that. It just doesn't bother me like give me the horse bills You know. Speaker 2 00:09:24 That's crazy. Speaker 1 00:09:25 Waking up is crazy to see yeah, so I woke up and I was like lucid too. I'm like oh there Yeah, that looks big. They're looking at him. I mean is this the last thing I remember right so the doctor Yeah, yes the doctor calls me, and I had forgotten for a little bit And then I was like you know I woke up, and I saw that he's like yeah, I was hoping you forget. um so okay so think of it as a mushroom and what they do is they cut in to like the top portion of. Speaker 1 00:10:03 it and um and they test it and in that test they found that there was cancer so then the next question is is like has it spread so they test the area where they made the cut um and if that area is has zero cancer in it then you know it hasn't spread and you've essentially cut out the. Speaker 1 00:10:35 cancer from the vine 99.9 sure what's that but if it's not cancerous around it they'll cut it right, Yeah, so they said that at this point what it does is it starts developing cancer at that point and then it turns itself into a tumor and then it starts kind of sending it through the body. So they caught it essentially right before it turned into a tumor. Speaker 1 00:11:12 Yeah, so to answer your question, well, and by the way, I've got to go back in six months and get poked again. So I get to go through the whole pain out of my a-hole. Hopefully you just don't wake up. So they're going to go check again in six months just to make sure. But my dad called me this morning. He's like, how you doing? And it's like, honestly, I'm kind of like the move-on kind of guy, right? Speaker 1 00:11:46 But there was a half second there. where you know i thought i mean the way he was hemming and hawing and it took them so long to give me my results which i knew was bad and i woke up and i remembered seeing the thing, it was like oh crap like i'm i'm a goner i got a week left you know like you know it was it wasn't. Speaker 2 00:12:10 it's like a much a mushroom looking structure how big is this thing i think it was they said it was. Speaker 1 00:12:15 like i can look at the documents but it was i think they said it was it was well out here the, number in my head doesn't sound right so i'll find it out and i'll text it oh you know what i can probably look it up through that was it uh paula it's like i think it's p-o-l-y-p um so. Speaker 1 00:12:48 But they said it actually took so long because the thing was so big and they had to figure out how to get it out Without chopping it all up so they could properly. Speaker 2 00:12:56 That's crazy. So what do they do? They just strangle the bottom of it or something. Speaker 1 00:13:02 Yeah, I mean they've got you know, whatever tool they use as a camera it's got the ability to like. Yeah, so it's so you know, I think my you know, so I went through this like period of like. Speaker 1 00:13:32 Clarity, I think you can say, you know where it's just like your perspective changes, right? It's like I don't care about. Right like, What about the kids? How am I going to, you know? And it's like, I want to make sure I don't lose that perspective. So I've been trying to, like, just think a lot about it. But I'm not, everybody's like, oh, are you okay? And I'm like, I'm fine. I was fine, you know. Even telling Ashley Ann that even though there was, like, some emotional aspect, Speaker 1 00:14:07 I was telling her, it's like, I've got a lump in my throat, and I don't even know why. Because I'm not sad. I'm not scared. I'm not anything. I'm just having a hard time actually speaking at the moment. But it's like. Speaker 2 00:14:21 Yeah. So. It's like maybe a grateful feeling. Speaker 1 00:14:26 That's the thing is I can't even, I can't. I can't even name the emotion. Like, I don't know why I'm, you know, at the moment I was like, I don't even know why I'm emotional right now because this is pretty cut and dry, you know. um because they were like hey 99.9 chance we got it you can either cut out that part of the colon, and uh you know and he goes but every time i do this you know your colon's fine. Speaker 1 00:14:57 yeah the the person's colon's fine and now they just did this whole procedure you know for nothing or we can come back and check i think you should just come back and check let's do that so that's. Speaker 2 00:15:17 crazy i just i just wanted to know if you like felt any different like throughout your day to day if you ever felt any more tired or whatever your stomach ever hurt you like whatever, but it sounds like they just kind of found it like you felt fine and then, He's went for a checkup and they found something. Speaker 1 00:15:40 Yeah, that's exactly what it is. So my buddy that said like he had the same thing but with stage four cancer in it, you know, he said he felt fine. Like literally the only thing different for me, this is gonna sound bad, but the only thing different for me is my poops are now more beefier. They don't have to go through restriction, you know what I mean? There's nothing keeping them from properly posting up. Speaker 2 00:16:13 Well, maybe that's how it's supposed to be. Speaker 1 00:16:16 Yeah, I'm like all this time I've been jealous of my boys and it's because I had blockage, you know. Speaker 2 00:16:22 And now it's just flowing. Speaker 3 00:16:25 Yeah. Oh, snap. Speaker 1 00:16:29 So, yeah, that's my... That's my thing. Speaker 2 00:16:38 That's true, dude. That's so crazy. So when my wife told me, I was like, what? Like, it was just came out of the stuff in that field. And then I was like, I got to ask. Speaker 1 00:16:50 Yeah, no, I'm an open book, man. Like, everybody in my family is like, oh, we won't tell anybody. Like, I don't care. Tell me. You know? Yeah. The only thing I said was like, you know, in the beginning, Ashlyn's like, yeah, I told my mom. And I'm like, crap. You know? You tell her. Everybody knows. Well, it wasn't about her. It was just, she's like, oh, did I overstep? And I'm like, no, you know what? Like, honestly, you need, like, the way that I think, Speaker 1 00:17:26 it's probably how most men do, you know, but the way how I think, like, I don't want to talk to anybody. I want to think about it. You know? I don't want to talk to anybody. Like, I just want to process it. Right. and and she in order to process needs to talk to somebody and i've realized that with her like especially when they put the kids down all i want to do is sit down and tune out all she wants to do is sit down and like tell me exactly every little detail of every minute of every second of the. Speaker 1 00:18:00 entire day i'm like that's like there's like 80 percent of what you said just was not important to like your story yeah what was going on and you're listening to it and you're like this is for her it's not for me just for her oh it's still going all right it's for her. so i didn't care but it was just like hey you need to do that that's fine but i i really don't want to start receiving text messages from like any calls and yeah no i completely understand. Speaker 2 00:18:32 because i'm literally the same way like i don't want, Anybody really knowing my business like I rather my business like be to me and then, Certain things like that. I care less about certain things that I've already had, Processed then it's like, you know, okay. I don't care who knows a certain point But on the other side of me you might be feeling like that on the other side of it We all care we all know we're all, invested in your health, but. Speaker 1 00:19:02 You know, this is crazy. Yeah, and in and like I said once I had a chance to process I was like, yeah I don't care. You know, So because I also think that like I went to you know, look I wouldn't have I went to the doctor He didn't ask me to do this. I at the end of the at the end of the the, Checkup I was like, hey my buddy told me he's like, oh, yeah, I guess you're about that age, you know, so. Speaker 1 00:19:32 You know I. Speaker 2 00:19:34 Okay, so that's correct. That's a that's a dog thing cuz sure you wouldn't right? I mean, let's see your friend X Y Z and if you didn't speak to up and In the finding a little something and they cut it at the root. So that's pretty good. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:19:51 Of course he would ask that no, so the guy responds back. Do you want this one? It's like no the thing that was measuring told you was wrong. Speaker 2 00:20:11 How smart are the people you work with? They professionals. Speaker 1 00:20:20 Some like the guy that I'm working with the biggest problem with this guy is he's um. He doesn't speak good English, And so, sometimes things get translated poorly, over text. Speaker 2 00:20:37 So he's, uh, like he knows what he's doing. He just, it's just communication. Speaker 3 00:20:43 Yeah, um... Speaker 2 00:20:48 Where is he from. Speaker 1 00:20:49 Mexico. He's like... Speaker 2 00:20:51 Our friends. Speaker 1 00:20:52 Yeah, he's, he's, uh, fully legal and everything. Speaker 2 00:20:57 Fully legal. Speaker 1 00:20:59 Yeah, yeah, full, like, he's, he's... Speaker 2 00:21:01 I thought you said completely legal. Speaker 1 00:21:02 No, like, completely undocumented and everything, so... Speaker 2 00:21:08 He got, um, like, a work permit when he first came over, or what. Speaker 1 00:21:11 No, he's, he's, like, when, when Trump came into office, he's like, I could be gone any minute. Speaker 2 00:21:17 Oh, you're saying he's fully illegal. Speaker 1 00:21:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Speaker 2 00:21:22 Oh, yeah, I thought we figured that. But you know what, though? out here in texas i don't know what's going on about stuff we're not talking about 10 gallon but it's something like in texas they're building houses like by the second, and it's all there's nothing but hispanic people so yeah i mean they can all like i mean you know. Speaker 1 00:21:45 politics yeah no i mean look you let them all in you know like you didn't want to police it i'm not. Speaker 2 00:21:52 going to police it for you yeah if you took every illegal construction worker out the country a lot of stuff would slow down it would be really much yeah i mean there would be there would definitely. Speaker 1 00:22:07 be a bump like we'd have figured a couple things out you know but yeah it was but you know. Speaker 2 00:22:15 the job don't get wrong their jobs would be replaced eventually but they're definitely working hard yeah. Speaker 1 00:22:27 So, um, but, uh, yeah, so that's it. You, uh, you guys coasting now since nothing, uh, no football. Speaker 2 00:22:45 Yeah, every day is kind of boring. I'm not going to lie. I'm just learning a bunch of all this financial stuff. And this is probably going to be a good segue into, um, Keller. I have to tell you kind of how I feel about this stuff too, though, because I kind of get hung up on learning about X, Y, and Z, which is plenty of stuff. So we just watch the X, Y, and Z. Speaker 2 00:23:16 It's just plenty of stuff. And I, like, get invested into learning stuff. And I realize... And I look up at the end of the day, I was so invested in learning this thing that I didn't give enough time to the Lord. Like, I didn't read my Bible like I should have that day. I didn't even, because, like, sometimes even if I'm not, like, praying or praising or reading or even just, like, you know, talking to my wife or friends or chaplains about God, Speaker 2 00:23:50 sometimes, like, I just find myself just sitting back, just appreciating where I'm at in life and appreciating the Lord and everything He's done for me and what's to come and all the struggles and just being grateful for that. But I know that I don't even get to do half those things, and I'm so focused on work or, in quotations, work. I'm just, like, trying to teach myself different things and, like, educate myself. And when I was listening to the teller re-listen to it, um... Speaker 2 00:24:23 he was talking about that was one of man's curses i'm like oh my goodness oh my goodness it is a curse i feel like because i always felt like guilty like it is because that's that's probably why i feel this way like i feel guilty for just like putting so much time into other, things outside of god no matter what it is but that was my thing yeah he was saying that um, many men were cursed to work in the thorns and thistles and the dirt or something like that and. Speaker 2 00:24:59 women are their curse was uh was uh labor and by having the baby like labor and they're obsessed with their husbands and their husbands will rule over them but yeah that was like they kind of gave me a breath of fresh air i was like dang that's that's ridiculous but i was able to find that and catch that. Speaker 1 00:25:29 Yeah. Yeah. It's, um, it's, it's kind of crazy how, you know, but he also says like, if we don't depend on each other, we become more like that, you know, when we're not, when we're not understanding that their rules are there. Um, so, um, of course I just got a text from Corey. Um, sorry. The, the, uh, the, the idea that, well, let me, let me back up. Speaker 1 00:26:19 Like when, when you feel like that and it's cool that you tied the two together, you know, and recognize like. oh yeah shoot that is me like but when you feel like that like oh i didn't i got so sucked in that i didn't spend any time with the lord today like what would you say like what how do you feel like. Speaker 2 00:26:42 what is that emotion right there it's uh i feel like i had it like i didn't like i'm not trusting the lord and i'm going outside of him to get information i also feel like it's a double-edged sword because sometimes i feel like god leads me to certain like information or a study or. Speaker 2 00:27:14 what the case may be i feel like i neglect like i neglected the lord that's awesome. Speaker 1 00:27:20 so guilty that's okay that's what i was asking so what do you do with that guilt. Speaker 2 00:27:32 well first i repent but outside of that i mean i don't know i just repent um so. Speaker 1 00:27:48 i'm a firm believer in the fact that we don't change ourselves um like like uh because i, think we all want to be like oh i wasn't perfect today and god's gonna get me i really hope he. Speaker 1 00:28:21 doesn't i'm trying i'm trying so hard right and i'm trying to beat this habit i'm trying to beat that habit i'm trying to. um and you know and you know and i don't think that that is helpful or productive and so that's why i'm asking you like how do you feel like because i i think that the more that you're. Speaker 1 00:28:57 going to read the word the more again if you can if you can spin it back to if i was messiah and the lord was me right how would i respond when my son did this you know and i think we start feeling like no i wouldn't be like dude what the hell you know um but i would love him coming to me and going like i'm trying i just can't seem to lick this thing you know can you help me. Speaker 1 00:29:33 you know and you know I think you think that when we do that because honestly I think you know the first to truly be a Christian in my opinion or as I as I understand it is really just to kind of go you are God you are everything you, hold you literally hold this word world together like if you take a break we all. Speaker 1 00:30:09 die yeah you know and so I don't need to accomplish all these things I don't need to any of that I really I just I just need your help and he goes yeah now you get me you just need my help yeah let's do it. Speaker 2 00:30:37 that make sense yeah so it's just as simple as asking it out so confident yeah and free you from. Speaker 1 00:30:50 a thing yeah and and i think you know but he teaches us through through struggle and suffering right and not like spiting us like oh i threw ah i take that right like it's no i'm gonna i'm gonna let you fight for this one and some of them some of the things it's just like oh yeah that just got better one day you know and other things it's like no it's been a struggle i just can't seem to kick it thank god i got jesus you know um but we we both ways we turn it back to him and i think that. Speaker 1 00:31:26 as we do that you know that's how he moves in our heart like again what would you want your son to. You're like, yeah, nah, I can do it too. So, and as you teach him, and you tell him how to do it, he's not just going to be better. He's going to be a little bit every single day. Like, yeah. Speaker 2 00:31:51 Yeah, right. Speaker 1 00:31:52 Okay, we're almost there. So, that's... Speaker 2 00:31:59 Yeah, that's one thing I do need to work on. Speaker 1 00:32:02 So, but, yeah. And I think, too, like, what you'll find is, on the flip side of that, is the more... I'm finding my child cool. Which one's that? That was Tasia. Oh. And then, you know, on the flip side of it, it's like... Speaker 1 00:32:34 The more that we pursue him, the more that he changes us too. So, you know, the hardest, one of the hardest things for me right now is just like, am I still, am I still, like if I don't get my next big career thing, am I still like the man, you know? And like, well, do you really believe in him? Like what, you know, you're, Speaker 1 00:33:05 you're affecting people's lives right now. Like what if he just has a different plan for you? Is that, is that worse? You know? So I think keeping it in the perspective of, Lord, what do you want? And if he's really in control of everything, really holding everything together, you're just gonna find yourself in the middle of whatever it is that he wants you to do. Speaker 2 00:33:31 That's very true. Sure, because I was also thinking, like, I was like, football, what's the business I can start? I'm like, I have no clue, but you literally just said it. Like, that was the only picture I really needed to be. You can't always control everything. Speaker 1 00:33:49 Right, right. And, you know, sometimes, you know, sometimes it was the hustle that got us there, you know, which he gave us. Yeah, for sure. You know. Speaker 2 00:34:01 You're on your path. Speaker 1 00:34:02 You know. And so it's like, what should I be doing right now? I don't know. What do you feel like the right thing to do is? You know what I mean? And then to go do it, you know. Speaker 2 00:34:15 You know, they say trust your gut. Just God whispering to you. Speaker 1 00:34:19 Yeah, on some level, you know, he gave you a brain. He told you to use it. And every once in a while, he says, hey, don't do that. and you listen and sometimes you don't and one way or the other he's going to tell you hey, all right you didn't you didn't i told you to turn there okay well, i've been trying to avoid this whole pothole you know but you ran right into it you know so there, you go so and that i don't think that's spiting me that's just education so i'll do like a couple. Speaker 2 00:35:03 notes i alluded to the second one a little bit but keller says that isn't that a lie you know what okay and for that for that what i wrote was husband's in wiser tandem and whatever that looks like, let me read this first okay so it's just like whatever that looks like like we're a partnership. Speaker 2 00:35:43 and we should always be doing things together business cooking cleaning etc so we could be, both moving towards the same goal and because there's so much in the rules and how, um you know more conservative christians are they say you know watch stay in the house and you, should cook and clean and take care of the kids and like create an identity around that the man should you know go into the world and work in that currency although you know most of time that works. Speaker 2 00:36:19 out like that we're kind of following that model but it doesn't always have to be that and uh, your wife could very much so compliment you in your business and you can compliment her um around the house cleaning or whatever whatever else the case is i mean for at least from my family dynamic right now that's kind of what it would be right and then there was a and then from the why. Speaker 2 00:36:50 oh this is what he was talking about how men are more okay with working alone and women and want to work within networks more than a man more than a man would right. Speaker 2 00:37:24 oh oh but but either way isn't always the right solution say everything like they're one solution working hard or creating by yourself or being alone whatever that's not the solution to everything so it's a solution to some things but vice versa for women not everything has to involve everybody but with one another usually we can solve most of the problems and this uh who said i think steve was talking about moving a couch isn't hard it's only hard when you're the only. Speaker 2 00:38:00 one trying to move it but if both of you are trying to move it then it's easy and so i just i thought of that when i when i seen those two things and he hit on the what really quick but he didn't really expand on it yeah. Speaker 1 00:38:23 It's interesting, I find that it seems like everything's like, you hit on it, right, but I'll kind of, we're good one way, but too much of the autonomy, too much of the man on this thing sends you into, oh, I spent all my day trying to, you know, achieve and produce, and da-da, right? And too much of the other thing is, well, we won't go there, because I don't get myself in trouble, but you understand, right? But the idea is, you know, together, one flesh, right? So, as we work together, we become one unit, right? Like, we become complete, and therefore, we can attack solutions. Speaker 1 00:39:23 together better and it's through a sharing of like hey you know either yeah because there's some things like she's not going to go and and say hey you know what we're one flesh so i'm going to i'm going to go ahead and uh and build the deck in the backyard right i mean some women can right but some women can't and in fact you're like hey baby i appreciate that you want to be. Speaker 1 00:39:56 here and help me and uh but maybe while i'm doing this you can you can go do something that you. right like that is reality you know but there are there are plenty of things like even just the idea that like, I mean, how often are you talking to somebody and they go, and you think to yourself, like, oh, Tasia would think this if she was hearing this right now, you know? So just because you have the relationship with her, you already have two perspectives, you know? Speaker 1 00:40:35 Because you know her so well, she's already helping you to see it in a different light, even when she's not present, you know. Speaker 2 00:40:46 Right. So you have multiple perspectives. Speaker 3 00:40:52 Right. Speaker 2 00:40:53 Even in that way, I guess we're still working together, you know. Speaker 3 00:40:55 Yeah, yeah. Speaker 2 00:40:57 Sharing brains. Speaker 1 00:40:59 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:40:59 That's what I do. Speaker 1 00:41:02 Yeah, because I think both of us are kind of pulling each other towards the middle. I don't know if that's the right way to say it, but like... We're keeping each other from going too far away on our own, but it's this interdependence that we need to have, but, you know, which women are great at, and then the independence that we have that men are great at, but it's like too much of either is, you know, not as productive. Speaker 1 00:41:43 I think you and I talked about the whole helper idea last week. Speaker 2 00:41:49 Yeah, we did. Speaker 1 00:41:53 And, so, did you hear when he said, like, when one of you wants to say, when the man wants to go, like... No, honey, if you don't want to do it, we won't do it. And, you know, she's like, step up, be a man. Right, right, right. So that's that's actually what happened to them when he was trying to when they were considering moving to New York to start Redeemer. Speaker 2 00:42:29 Oh, he was telling his own story. Speaker 1 00:42:31 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:42:32 Oh, OK. Speaker 1 00:42:33 So he's like, babe, if you don't want to go, you don't want to go. Like, we won't go. And she's like, no, if you feel like you're led to do this and that God wants you to do it, then I'll have it out with God between me and him. But you're the man. You make the decision and I'll follow. So and I thought it's so interesting to me. Like, I was listening to a sermon of his the other day and he's like, stops, starts explaining something. He stops and he goes, what? Speaker 1 00:43:03 you want me to go higher okay uh kathy thinks that i need to talk on this on a higher level so here we go all right and it's like you know so you think about it that means that they've already discussed what um what he's talking about right she knows what he's trying to do she recognizes that that he's he's missing it right um he's missing his goal right now. Speaker 1 00:43:34 because she's sitting there listening to the delivery and says no we we dream this up together but it's not working right and he understands that that he understands her little you know play calling if you will right enough to to go oh that's what okay okay okay you know and to me like it's actually pretty cool yeah. Yeah, and they were just, but it's all about Tim Keller, right? Speaker 1 00:44:09 Everything's about Tim Keller, and nobody thinks about Kathy Keller. Speaker 2 00:44:13 Right, because she can go up there, and she can preach it, too, which is pretty cool. Speaker 1 00:44:18 But she might not. She might be a terrible preacher, you know? Like, I've heard her give some talks here and there, and she's fine, right? Yes. But I guess my point is, like, together they created something beautiful, even though Tim Keller was the only one in the spotlight. Correct. And now she's actually taking over. Like, she's running all of this, all of the sermons that are being put out now, which is kind of funny. Speaker 2 00:44:48 That's pretty cool. And it kind of reminds me of, like, sports in a way, like your coach. You run across a lot of different coaches, and you find one that kind of fits you like a... like a glove and your performance becomes better because not all coaches are meant to coach you because of your play style or whatever yeah i think it's kind of same thing with marriage it's like once they're like your perfect coach they understand you they understand the techniques. Speaker 2 00:45:20 that they teach and they understand that they could teach you you are receptive to them so like. Speaker 1 00:45:25 that's pretty cool i i've never heard that yeah and they and you guys are so close that you know like tasia knows like oh don't talk to him about that right like or that way you gotta you gotta come in this way you know or you know sometimes ashland's like hey have a beer you know because she she wants me hey you know why don't you uh why don't you go settle down for a minute because she knows like i'm not ready yet you know. Speaker 1 00:46:02 So, you know, I don't want to take up too much time from you today, but so I wanted to hit one more thing, but I have to switch off of Keller. Are you good with this? Yeah. So you and I talked about being a Christian and whatnot last week. And then like the next, remember I was referring to James. I was like, yeah, and James, it'll start talking about the fruit. And then literally the next day was the same chapter, was the chapter that we were, that I was referring to. Speaker 1 00:46:34 Did you catch that, James 2. Speaker 2 00:46:38 What? No. Oh, are we talking about on the reading. Speaker 1 00:46:42 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:46:43 No, I wasn't there with the reading. James 2, I'll go to another. Speaker 3 00:46:47 It was James 2, right. Speaker 2 00:46:58 What day was this. Speaker 1 00:46:59 Let's see, we talked on what, Wednesday? Last week? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:47:04 Tuesday. Speaker 1 00:47:05 20. We normally talk on Tuesday. I think last week was Wednesday, though. Speaker 2 00:47:10 Oh, was it? Okay. Speaker 1 00:47:12 So it would have been on the 29th. Oh, faith without works is dead. There we go. Because it goes in to say, like, what good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking daily food and one of you says to them, go in peace, be warm and filled, without giving them the things needed for the body. Speaker 1 00:47:47 What good is that? So also faith by itself, it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, you're... You have faith and I have works. Show me your faith apart from your works and I will show you faith by my works. You believe that God is one. You do well. Even the demons believe and shudder. Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? Speaker 1 00:48:20 You see that faith was active along his works and faith was completed by his works and the scripture was fulfilled that says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone and in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messenger and sent them out another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead. Speaker 2 00:49:01 Where are you listening to that one. Speaker 1 00:49:03 It was the next day. It was like, see? You know? So. But I just, were you, I was wondering if I pushed you too hard after that call. Speaker 3 00:49:22 No. Fine, roll. Speaker 1 00:49:24 So. All right. Because it is a trip when you start thinking about, like, how do I, you know, what does this really mean and stuff. And that's where you start, like, you know, you start looking around and you go, well, then most of the people that call themselves Christians or Catholics or whatever, like, are they saved? You know? And I go, I don't know, bro. I'm not going to say that. You know. Speaker 2 00:49:57 Like, do you think that's, like, overstepping a little bit. Speaker 1 00:50:00 Well, what I'm saying is, like, I dare not judge, you know, another man's heart. You know, God knows what they're capable of. God knows what they're struggling with. God knows all that. But what I'm looking at in this person's works, I'm not seeing the faith there. You know? Yeah. So. Speaker 2 00:50:27 It's just so, it's so, it's so. So, I don't want to call it revolutionary, but it's so much different than what we've learned. Yes, it's paradigm shift for real. Speaker 1 00:50:41 Yeah, right. By the way, Maddie got in the truck, so you now have ears. You want to say hi to Uncle Bob? What's up, Maddie. Speaker 3 00:50:53 Hey there, Bob. Speaker 2 00:50:57 All right, Matty. I'm Braden. I'll talk to you next week. I'm going to go tell my wife that right now. I'm showing her this. Because I told her right after. I showed her it was John 36. John 336. Speaker 1 00:51:11 Oh, yeah. John 336 was the first one, yeah. And then this one was James 2. Speaker 2 00:51:15 And so I told my wife that one after. And now this one. Yeah, this one's going to confirm. Speaker 1 00:51:20 Yeah. And then I've got a whole bunch more for you. But we'll keep on plowing down that road as we go. Speaker 2 00:51:28 Right. Okay. Speaker 1 00:51:29 So, cool, man. It was good chatting. Speaker 2 00:51:32 Have a good one. Speaker 1 00:51:32 You do the same. Catch you later. Speaker 3 00:51:36 All right, bye. We're going to go this way. I found out I just slapped him off a desk into a door. Oh, shoot. Oh, yeah? So, what we did in the O.Q., we got him. Yeah. And then we showed her it. Speaker 1 00:51:57 Alright, I gotta check a couple texts real quick, and then you can, uh, do you want snacks. Speaker 3 00:52:03 Uh, yeah, yeah, right? Yeah, the treat I had, sir. Speaker 3 00:52:33 The thing that I gave to you. Where's my little measuring thing? Do you keep it on? The what? The little, like, measuring thing. I gave it to you. Nowhere, daddy. Um. I meant to give it to you so you can hang it on, like, as your, as next to your hearing thing, so you could, just in case you don't have one that you need to measure something with, you could use it. Speaker 3 00:53:04 It's not going to weight, and it's not going to bring down your pants. I'm going to, oh, put on that. Speaker 3 00:53:37 Put it on. Wait, do you want me to add it? You want me to add it to the pre-order, that's good. Speaker 3 00:54:60 Which one? This one. Which one? Found it. There you go, friend. Speaker 3 00:56:17 hmm, ok video. slushy, 73 cents for a slushy. Speaker 3 00:56:47 this truck is good. Speaker 4 00:57:33 From Danny, summarized, system up, chemical levels checked, add magenta, calcium, acid, vacuum, and brush pool tomorrow. Speaker 4 00:58:13 From Manuel, translated, okay, that will be cleaned. Speaker 3 00:58:23 From Manuel, translated, to be able to trust you. We got pistachios. Speaker 3 00:58:56 Pistachios, you don't like pistachios. We got one more in somewhere. Oh, there, no, not that. Speaker 3 00:59:29 You literally said not. You I did we show you you pulled it out. Speaker 3 01:00:07 If you're pushing me then we're fighting when you're going YouTube just filled up this. Speaker 3 01:00:40 That's a guest house. Right there. Okay, that's me. That's the guest house. Speaker 1 01:00:58 The other house is behind. You should see these people. So look. That's all ocean. Speaker 3 01:01:32 Actually, sorry. I gotta call one more guy. Okay. Speaker 1 01:01:52 How much? Sorry, I was finishing a meeting and picking up the kit. So, you're on the phone with Maddie. Speaker 5 01:02:02 No, it's usually, like, especially during the day, I'll give somebody a couple rings. They don't pick it up. I like to hang it up. They'll get back to me when they can. Yep. Yep. Don't. How's everything? Sit here and drive, you know. Try to get back over to the house. Down here or home? Yeah. I can drive home. Speaker 5 01:02:37 Takes me about an hour. probably get up to my house an hour and a half yeah that drives the highway last week of the week before i went up during the edge hurry duty and it took the agilis crest highway. up and over the mountain yeah no drought pretty good you know there's a couple sponsors for the. Speaker 5 01:03:15 most part i think i was maybe it took it was a little over two you know two and a half hours, but it's not the normal trip up to 15. yeah so we're gonna enter in a while so if you're gonna call us make sure you're still alive. Speaker 1 01:03:40 Still alive. Um, yeah, just running like a chicken with my head cut off man, you know. Speaker 5 01:03:50 so. Speaker 1 01:03:53 Ashley ends up in Vegas right now till tomorrow. This is her second time this month or in a month I should say and. She's a world of concrete and then, She's out there for a trade show right now So, I mean ultimately she works for an investment firm that's that's, Purchased a an epoxy flooring company. Speaker 1 01:04:29 That they're trying to build and so they went out the the Reader's Digest version is she worked for the cream of the crop, epoxy flooring you know construction company that guy sold to sherwin-williams and then sherwin-williams started just bleeding them out um it's that kind of uh if you if you can't beat them buy them kind of thing right yeah so she left that company went to another company that promised her the world but i'll save you the story because it's not worth your time um and then um. Speaker 1 01:05:08 um and then some investors got together and said hey let's uh let's go ahead and rebuild the cream of the crop using the top dogs from that company so you know they called her up called up everybody you know all uh all the people that were in a position where they were looking for you know to go to the next level you know but had proven themselves kind of thing. Speaker 1 01:05:39 and uh said you know so she was basically given a position said hey we don't we we can't support you yet because we don't have the product in california but we need to we need to we don't want to lose the opportunity to get you so she actually she's been working for them for a year and has only had product to sell for like two months so but now it's like i mean not that she didn't have any work to do but you know but now she's she's uh you know going gangbusters you know. Speaker 1 01:06:10 so cool but um yeah so when she goes i'm i'm on like triple duty gotcha um we should do a burgos run soon what do you want to do that what's that so we should do a burgos run soon yeah. Speaker 5 01:06:40 We absolutely should. Speaker 1 01:06:46 I'm booked next week, but the following week, I'm like, do you work President's Day. Speaker 5 01:06:57 I don't know yet. There's talk about them possibly cutting the job site down. It's not a holiday for our local, but I think the general might shut it down because everybody's kids have got it off. Right. So, I'm not sure. Speaker 1 01:07:23 Cool. So, well, if you want to, I mean, I know I won't get it off, but I won't have to do kid pickups that day. if you wanted to hook up you know after work or something like that maybe you know three four. Speaker 5 01:07:42 o'clock get some birdos let me let me see where i'm gonna be at because i know i think the following week after that we're gonna start going into working overtime yeah so i won't even be getting off until you know closer to five okay and that traffic i'm sure is just gonna be fun. Speaker 1 01:08:01 right right so yeah cool check that out and uh i'm actually just down the street from my other kids school and then it's gonna go crazy in here so um yeah yeah that sounds good and and uh, but yeah and then i mean even if it's not that day you know monday wednesday monday wednesday fridays are like there are the day ashland's like just don't do tuesday thursdays. Speaker 1 01:08:31 you can do any other day like but thursday is on books. Speaker 5 01:08:36 Wednesday, I have my day to myself. So Wednesdays are always good. Okay. So, afterward. She's got a regular Wednesday thing that she does. Speaker 1 01:08:51 Yeah, so, I mean, if you want to do next Wednesday, not next Wednesday, but Wednesday the 18th or whatnot, you want to, you know, check it out, just let me know, and we'll put it down. Speaker 5 01:08:60 Yeah, yeah, let's see what happens with that. Speaker 1 01:09:03 I'll let you know. Cool, man, but everything else is good. Speaker 5 01:09:08 Oh, yeah, just a little, the normal stuff, but everything's good. Good, good. So, cool. All right, we'll pick up the kids. I'll be back to you on that. Speaker 1 01:09:19 Cool, man. Thanks for calling. All right, talk to you later. All right. Yeah, no worries. Cool, we'll see you. Bye. Are you going to bike? No. You do this, and I say it doesn't matter every time. Speaker 3 01:09:35 Do it. Speaker 1 01:09:36 I showed up at 3.05 like a week ago when it was just Eric and they still let me through. How's it going? For Eric in eighth grade, McLeish and Ben in sixth grade. All right. Thank you. Thank you. We're going to clean up the back. All right. You can do it. Speaker 3 01:09:59 Finally. Oh my gosh. I'm going to track your pee. Speaker 3 01:10:32 Track my pee again. Speaker 1 01:10:35 this one's uh yeah i can see that thank you you know i'm so glad i am. Speaker 3 01:10:45 do whatever you want i'm bald as hell can i try spark doesn't matter if your hair is thinning. Speaker 6 01:10:60 if you're already balding or you immediately caught completely by surprise voronov runs to gather whichever soldiers from his unit haven't yet gone on leave meanwhile inside the spy plane pilot francis gary powers the cia calmly and methodically follows his flight plan i'm unaware of the events going on below he keeps the plane as it overflies. Speaker 6 01:11:32 Thanks for asking. Speaker 6 01:12:19 Two impossible choices, the pilot solemnly and bravely replies, take care of my family. Back on the SAM site, the major and soldiers rush to get the S-75 Vina surface-to-air missile system online before the intruder passes over. The men take off the weather covers, unpack the radars, and get the generators running. They chase and reach at every system ready to launch. The launcher is prepared fully operational near minutes before power high above streaks into range. Speaker 6 01:12:56 In the air, the SU-9 pilot is having a hard time. He's getting transmissions all the while in his ear, shouting at him the location of the intruder and what to do to get there. But no matter what he does in the SU-9, he can't see the American. He has to use a lot of afterburner to maintain such an extreme altitude, but without a visual, all he's doing is wasting precious fuel. At the SAM site, a ping appears on the radar, then a second ping at a lower altitude. The radar operator selects the higher ping and the system quickly locks onto it. Speaker 6 01:13:31 Fire three, the major orders. The operator presses the button and the missile rockets off from its platform. It snakes left and right in the air as it gains altitude, before it finally straightens out and heads for its target. It's the first time he's fired the missile, and the operator watches it with concern and forgets to fire the other two. Fire, fire, Major Voronov orders, but it's too late and the lock has been lost. Speaker 6 01:14:04 Command warn Mentikov of incoming missiles, and he immediately breaks the chase, making it a safe help. On the ground, the Major can see the U-2 and his missile on the radar screen. The blips inch closer together with each radar refresh. Just closer and closer. The missile detonates behind the plane. Inside the U-2, Powers notices that the sky is suddenly lit orange. Speaker 6 01:14:39 And then he feels a jolt forward. The plane starts to careen to the side and Powers adjusts the controls. But then the plane pitches nose down and then nose up. The tail is blown off and there's nothing he can do. Speaker 4 01:15:01 No, don't, we've won. From Andres, good afternoon, quick reminder practice today 7.30pm at Grijalva. Speaker 6 01:15:09 You too. who then starts to roll and the wings separate from the fuselage the u2 starts to fall like a rock from 70 000 feet in the sky powers gathers himself from the shock his dashboard is lit with warnings and the altimeter is rapidly falling acting fast he frees himself from the harness and opens the canopy he doesn't have time to destroy the top secret camera as the cockpit. Speaker 6 01:15:40 violently decompresses ripping off the canopy and sucking powers alongside it everything becomes a blur as he's hit by the barrage of air stuck halfway out of the plane held on by the oxygen tube the wind shoves him against the falling fuselage as he falls through the clouds fighting desperately for his life he fights with the tube each passing second seeming like an eternity, finally he rips it off and the wind flings him away from the aircraft. Speaker 6 01:16:12 The plane drifts away, and he pulls his shoe. While descending under the parachute, Paris scatters his escape mat and disassembles a silver dollar suspended around his neck containing a poison-laced injection pin. He secrets the poison pin in his uniform, but doesn't use it. He was still hopeful of escape. Back on the SAM site, the men see two radar pings touch, then a cloud of pings, then nothing. The soldiers cheer. That's a hit. Major Voronov gleefully reports back to base. Speaker 6 01:16:46 Target destroyed, but headquarters shut him right down. No, he's dropped decoys. Seek the intruder, comes the reply. The Major's taken aback, but there's nothing his crew can do now anyway. Two MiGs are sent to find the American pilot, while the Major General orders the anti-air commanders to keep. Some commanders ask if they should be careful in case there are friendly forces in the area. They're told in no uncertain terms, there aren't any friendly forces in the area. Speaker 6 01:17:20 Meanwhile, in the MiG-19, [AI_SUMMARY] A conversation unfolds around everyday logistics, personal health, and theological reflections. Braden shares a health scare involving a precancerous polyp, prompting discussions on coping mechanisms, marital communication, and spiritual dependence. The dialogue transitions to the importance of faith expressed through actions, emphasizing that genuine faith should manifest in tangible deeds. The conversation also highlights the dynamics of marriage as a partnership, advocating for interdependence and collaboration. Practical scheduling issues are addressed, illustrating how personal and spiritual matters intertwine with daily responsibilities.
