And so they're going when can we get the other one? And so that's why I'm. Okay, fair enough. What's that? Sure. Yeah, absolutely. Alright, Speaker 1 00:27:46 Thank you. Gotta me in for the they uh Oh yeah okay hold on Okay. Speaker 1 00:39:27 No it. Speaker 3 00:39:28 Won't no puede quitar eso no no. Speaker 3 00:40:08 Supposed to come out I think we were in trouble before but. Speaker 3 00:40:38 Half of them to just go down because he's like, hey, I've got the pistols. You know, the guns. Maybe I'll just go down there and buy a new gun. Maybe it's not the pressure washer. Yeah, I'll do that. When you you can do it? Speaker 3 00:41:08 But. Speaker 3 00:41:38 Um. I think you can use the hose with the jet attachment, right? Yeah. I mean we're just trying to clean. We can do the crack details, right? We can. You know start I think start preparing for. Speaker 2 00:42:03 Only the mortar be two thousand, yes or rough set to. Speaker 3 00:42:07 Uh, repit set. aqui. Right? No, no. ¿Cuál es el repit set? Hmm? ¿Cuál es el repit set? Aquí? Yeah. Two fifty four repit set pero no hay repit set. Oh So What about two thousand? So more about two thousand. Como uno. Uh. So and cuando. cuando hay more about two thousand, I think you can put the membrane in the parts of both chips, right? Yeah. So, I can't see it here, right? Membrane, right? Speaker 1 00:43:32 And Then I would say for you, you can start looking at or. Speaker 3 00:43:36 I like to why not look at all the different areas that we need to continue to chip, you know. So only only in these same areas that I'm worried about, right? What's going to stop us from going? Stop us from what's in our way from floating and applying membrane. So right so like you pointed out over there, right? That's in our way. You know what else is in our way? Speaker 3 00:44:07 You know, this little you know what's connected to this little string right here. Okay, stuff like that. Yeah, right. And, then you know we can remove all the all the rust that's on that remember, I'm not worried about the rebar as much as I am like. Speaker 3 00:44:41 The fact that I'm seeing rust coming through, makes me wonder if we did those areas properly. Did we get right here with epoxy? You know, why is it like that? Why is it coming through? So. Speaker 3 00:45:11 Alright, let me go to that. Go to that shop. I'll. Speaker 1 00:45:21 Get that pistol. We're going in the morning. Speaker 3 00:45:33 And then I'm gonna need to get rapid set for you. Guinness, Guinness Sentinel, Speaker 2 00:45:40 Like you know. Speaker 3 00:45:48 Nothing, Material. Thirty seven oh one two fifty four nine. Okay. Uhhuh. Speaker 3 00:46:13 Huh, yeah. So long, maybe won't be. Speaker 3 00:48:09 The noise. The noise. I. Speaker 1 00:48:23 Don't like it. Speaker 3 00:48:31 Okay, tomorrow. Speaker 3 00:48:52 I never got my relief, so we never made it over there. All good, yeah. Our game plan has changed three times already today, so that's what just how it goes. Speaker 1 00:50:01 I'm sorry. Speaker 3 00:50:37 You do the same. All right, I'll catch you Thursday, I guess. You're not here Tuesday, Wednesday? All right. And I won't say hi to you tomorrow. Have a good one, man. Speaker 1 00:53:42 Okay. Speaker 1 00:55:33 Thank you. Speaker 4 00:58:44 There won't be anyone left in the regime at the end of any conflict, But there will be quite a few casualties on the other side along the way. The Iranian army did not come out unscathed, but they were defeated in subsequent battles. Do, you think that Iran has the ability to inflict significant casualties on the United States? Not on the United States, Speaker 5 00:58:54 But I just want to go back to what you said. I think Khamenei is willing to kind of drive his country into this. And we didn't need this confrontation to know that. I do think if Khamenei is taken out, There will be a battle internally for who would be next supreme leader who takes over. And, if you can combine that with as Israel did in'12 war, taking out some of top echelon of military IRGC leadership, there is an opportunity then, You make the choice very real, and I think there's enough corruption. Your great interview with Kareem Sackor made the point that it started off twenty percent charlatan, eighty percent true believer, now it's eighty percent charlatan, twenty percent true believer. My hope is that you maybe avoid some bloodshed, if you take out a couple of charlatans and true believers, and you sort of put the choice again to the charlatans saying, "you know, you can go the easy way or the hard way," as they say. Speaker 4 00:59:24 You know, I've read twice, or listened to twice in the last week, "Empire of Terror" by Mark Salewski. I don't know if you've read it. It's about the IRGC. No, I haven't. It's about six years old. But as of six years ago, the IRGC was about 150,000. The regular Iranian army is under 400, 000, and that took away a lot of my hope for a quick exit for the regime because that 150,00 will be killed by Iranian citizens after they murdered at least 30, Thousand people there will be revenge. There will not be a coalition of amnesty granting people. They're angry. Doesn't that decrease the likelihood. Well, if Reza Pahlavi, who I read about this week can unify the opposition and implement a transition plan, he has spoken about amnesty for lower end level. Folks I don't know that you're going to see that level. It's certainly there and reminds me many years ago, twenty years ago, an interview with Ayatollah Khomeini's grandson. Um, And one of the I was at the time, very shaken in by the by idea of nonviolent resistance or people, power and Gene Sharp. And when I read The Hidden We said there's such a blood debt at this point that people will extract a heavy price once once the mullahs are toppled. And that's coming from you know, the bloodline of the American Revolution. But Yashar Ali with whom I grew up in Greece is right about the fact that as the internet connectivity is restored, We will see more and more what we saw a few of these absolutely horrific videos trucks running through entire crowds, machete to a young lady. Horrible horrible videos. And I and trauma that Israel went through on ten seven, has not been visited by their own government on the people of Iran. Doesn't that? And I just think it creates conditions that we've not seen before. There will certainly be some vengeance. However, There I think there's an opportunity for leadership again. Uh you know feeling kind of surprised I do feel like there's an opportunity at least um. Speaker 5 01:00:23 And, maybe that this is a role for the United, States and our intelligence services to effectively try to buy people off and coerce them. And, you can do that by killing some of the prominent leaders and then saying," Do you want the same fate? Do you want to be on the same kill list, or do you want to face the people?" And. So there's maybe an opportunity to set aside my concern would be that if there was a quick fall of regime, There was something in the interim that there would be an opportunity for kind of insurgency that would be filled by their ranks these killers. You know, at the top right now, obviously it's similar dynamic what we saw in Iraq. I don't know if you agree as well. Speaker 4 01:00:43 And feel free to tell me how I should, but prior to nineteen ninety one Gulf War one. The casualty estimates that the American public would make ready for was in six figures. Same thing happened twenty years later in two thousand and three be prepared for big casualties. In both wars. It was under one hundred and fifty in the initial invasion in two thousand. And three, of course, it went into the thousands over the long term war, but there was less than one hundred and fifty in Iraq in two thousand and three, less than one hundred and fifty, which is a huge number for America, but nevertheless, less than what we were expecting nineteen ninety one. Uh Ambassador Orton came on probably really about to United States twice this week to say, remember the Sheffield, The Royal Navy destroyer that was hit by an Exocet from an Argentinian jet fighter in nineteen eighty two, killing twenty sailors. And, they could get off a lot of lucky shots, too. Has anyone talked about to the American people about to be prepared for casualties? No one's talked about that I think that is a realistic thing in terms of potential to hit the bases as I've heard this week. Speaker 5 01:01:14 We have an interceptor shortage for our missile defense systems, which are very good but very expensive. And. So the math game right now favors the aggressors and people who don't cheat with things like Russia and Ukraine or Iran against Israel. We saw the October war, and there is a tension to that. My understanding is a lot of military planning, including Israelis, Trying to figure out if you can have a first wave attack that overwhelms and pretty much dismantles Iran's offensive capabilities. I don't think answer that, but um you know I trust the Israeli intelligence, I trust the American hardware. Now I trust the disco bobulator. Do you think it's EMP? No, I think. So this is one of these situations where, as journalists, we're not reporting on it. And if I'm not giving any policy advice tell you in general terms, what I've heard because. Israelis figured out both the protocol and technology that allowed them to blind, not just the air defenses but the command and control of their adversary. And you first saw that against Hezbollah, then you saw it against Iran in 12-day war. And even before that, those strikes against Iran. And at that know-how, it's not just attack, it's also how you do it. This is again uh as the chair of the United States I think that might be a de- escalator. But again, that's just sort of um I think inference on my part because I heard that before President talk about this de- escalator. So I will be watching The Free Press this weekend for updates from Eli. Lake follow me on X @ E li L ake subscribe to The Free Press. They're a great piece on Ron Prince spot lobby, also a great piece on munitions. They're great pieces all negotiations. They'll be on top of this, like very few people are if Iran is going to go full Alamo, you'll find out about it from Eli. First. Thank you, Eli Lake. We'll be right back on our next segment. Speaker 4 01:02:05 Welcome back. I'm joined by Matt Conti, head of technology studies at DEI, columnist for the Wall Street Journal. Paul Mackin, Before we get into the very serious stuff that you wrote about for the journal on Friday, I have to begin with developing a new theory. Have you been married a long time? I guess it all depends on the meaning of word long, But yeah, we were about to celebrate our anniversary, and it will be 14 years. Do you remember the same movies as Mr. Cotter remembers? Yes, we're in the same generation. We, don't you know, being uh man and woman, we like different types of films. So I do i'd rather not have to watch The Godfather with Pete U. And now that's all about 45. She likes the rom-coms and Hallmark Channel, and of course I'm usually in another room watching a selection. Well, Last night, I was talking to her about watching Notting Hill again for the first time in twenty - seven years. And the best thing is that she like knows the dialogue because apparently they've been getting fed these little clips. I just remember anything from Notting Hill. Do you remember anything from Notting Hill at this point? You're married? I know, In fact, my wife made me watch Notting H ill ;. It would be the first time I'd ever seen that film. There's there's a whole universe there that uh I leave to her, And then, of course, she leaves all the Star Trek movies and uh Die Hard stuff uh to to me. Well, I'm just making a recommendation: if you haven't seen it by now, you will like The Rainy Day Girl. Now on full full serious side : do you think Iran is going to go full out? Speaker 4 01:03:27 Of reading with NBC News. They already burned down a bunch of the mosques and the bullet houses. I don't think anyone from the IRGC or the MOIS is going to walk away if there is regime change, do you? That's certainly not going to happen. The IRGC or a siege, you know, there are course whole political echelons that are part of this regime. Then there's the regular army. You might think one of our goals should be to increase space between the regular army and then the revolutionary doctrines, The IRGC, which commands terrorist abroad and then also enjoys militias, which are kind of enforcers of mullahs' rule at home. It's a very complicated country and it's hugely populated as well. And so whatever happens next if all this regime is going to be messy, I'm going to say for an absolute break while you read in The Verge today in The Wall Street Journal your column for week. Before we do that, before we go to the break, I just want to give people what the free expression article is. Correct Wall Street Journal. I am actually too very excited too. It's a new project launched by Wall Street Journal opinion. Free expression is a daily newsletter that you get either via email or Substack. You can sign up at the Wall Street Journal, and it's a lot of stuff topics that are usually not covered by the opinion page. It's more cultural, More useful kind of directed about a lot of Gen Z what's up with kids? And then they have, you know those old fogey Nettie there at the end of each week, where I weigh in on politics and foreign policy. It's a great mix so far and off to great start. And I am very excited to be part of it. Yeah like your old buddy Matt Mitchell from Hampshire? So not really in this district but you are an oracle there, you are an oracle of their leaf backer studio. I talk to the oracle about every studio, obviously break down here in South Florida, where he was seeking refuge from New Virginia government. But let me talk to you about that during the break and then come back after this. Speaker 4 01:04:53 And on top of that, Governor Northam, Who said practically nothing during the campaign other than she stood with law enforcement and cared about kids, has revealed herself to be nothing but a signing machine for the progressive machine. And. So one of the first things she signed into law is this proposal to have a new congressional map, which would reduce Republican representation in Congress to two or even one seat. And this goes from, you know, Republicans haven't won Virginia since two thousand and four in a presidential election. But they still get about forty five percent of the vote. That would be reduced to almost nothing no congressional representation. That's her first priority not nothing about the affordability that she campaigned on. They're also looking at course joining the Blue State Climate Compact, which will mean higher energy costs for Virginians. Uh you're looking at now a push to end cooperation with. Speaker 4 01:05:51 We're thinking about Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia. We actually need the biggest country in truth. This is still drivable. You know we don't we don't have normal commute times in the DC area. So even the two hours it would take to come back from West. Virginia seems reasonable to us. But if in exchange you have a reasonable government, low taxes, lower less regulation, better business climate and of course more personal freedoms as well. Okay I see that all right. We're going to be on there really quick on the network stand by. Welcome back America's Some new channel, Reagan Network, our affiliate on QQ with Matt Kennett of AEI and the Wall Street Journal. Uh, you missed a great discussion with Matt during the break about politics in Virginia will be on the Big Weekend Pod. Matt, I want to read the opening of your column Friday in the Wall Street Journal because President Trump must choose to enforce the red lines he has drawn against the Iranian regime or entangle himself in pointless negotiations that legitimize his sworn enemy. He needs to demand Iranian concessions as a precondition for future talks or be prepared to walk away. His credibility is on the line, and American deterrence and future of Middle East are too. That's how I see it. That's how everyone I talk to sees it? But are we neocons locked in a neocon conference room? Or are we Reagan conservatives who understand that ideology starts with peace through strength? And look, I think President Trump understands this. He's drawn two red lines with Iran over the course of past year The first red line was no nuclear enrichment. Speaker 4 01:06:37 Not pausing the enrichment, not winding it down to a certain level. No nuclear enrichment, and that needs to be verified. And the second red line that he drew just in recent weeks is that there should be no killing of protesters. There should be no murder of your own population. Iran has violated both red lines. When it violated the no enrichment red line in twenty twenty five, we were having negotiations like we're having now. President Trump took action, Operation Night Hammer destroyed the Iranian nuclear program. Now that highly enriched uranium is under rubble or hidden away somewhere. Do, you think do you think then he would launch an attack during the Olympics or Ramadan? I don't think they would overlap, though I I think the Olympics probably not um Ramadan is a different story. There are many, many military operations have taken place during the month of Ramadan. I don't think that would prevent Trump from launching an attack. Okay, now whatever he does, he's gonna have to act. You okay? Yes, I agree with you. Otherwise we'll be back to after the Afghanistan debacle. And you can't. You have to rebuild credibility every time you spend it down by letting a red line be violated, and he's already rebuilt that it will be a disaster to let it go down. However, The uh first President Bush before the Gulf War one made sure the American people know that we might suffer one hundred thousand casualties. We were ready for chemical weapons and everything. The second Gulf War with the second President Bush same drill, The American people were ready for a lot of casualties were warned, and we were got in our stomachs, and both times there was less than one hundred fifty killed in the initial invasion in the entire uh desert storm operation became thousands in Iraq over here. Do. You think President Trump has done what he needs to do with American people prepare them against massive casualties, any kind of conflict with Iran? Speaker 4 01:07:34 He hasn't talked about mass casualties. He he hasn't uh talked about the downsides of a potential conflict. But we can understand, I don't think any operation against Iran would look like either Gulf War. In both Gulf Wars, of course, We had massive armies that we assembled on the perimeter of Iraq, and that went into Iraq in the first Gulf War to eject Saddam from Kuwait and the second Gulf War to end Saddam's rule. That's not what's happening here too, but Trump has these two red lines. : no enrichment, no killing of protesters. Iran has violated them both, but that means as justice is done in his first term, whether it was Qasem Soleimani. Uh. Speaker 3 01:08:05 Um, I haven't touched base with Jesse yet, but I just. I'm anticipating your question. But I just want to call you up and see how you're doing today. Speaker 6 01:08:14 I'm doing okay. Um, I'm getting a call from Lola right now too. Speaker 4 01:08:19 You can take it. No problem. All right. Thanks. Bye- bye. It is second term midnight, hammer or operation. Absolute resolve with the droop. He has to punish the aggressors. And so what i've expected to happen is an attack on the apparatus of repression. That is these militias and the IRGC terrorists. And also an attack on the remaining nuclear sites that we know from intelligence and. Speaker 6 01:08:56 Your Call has been forwarded to voicemail. The person you're trying to reach is not available. At the tone, please record your message. Speaker 4 01:09:03 The missiles, right? ballistic missiles at Iran in the region. That's, not that's not a ground invasion with the aim of toppling the government and occupying Iran. That's a very Trumpian attack in order to coerce the regime into doing what he wants. That's, what I expect and I think right now is we're waiting for the timing, and the timing has a lot to do with military preparations, Not only for the offensive, but in expectation of potential counterattack by Iran and our ability to defend against it, not only our own forces but also of course uh Israeli troops. Former Israeli ambassador Michael Oren called into this program this week twice to remind people about the A - 10 aircraft deal in the Balkans, where at The British Royal Navy, an Argentinian fighter jet got on an A - 10 aircraft deal, twenty British sailors, wounded another twenty five and sunk a destroyer before it could get towed to repair. They they don't think anyone Said anything yet about any church or what our vulnerability is and uh, the navy's quite confident in its ability. But i think there ought to be a little bit of preparation at least by the president and others in the department of defense about what might happen. Do you agree or disagree with that? No, i think we we need more explanation. Explanation is a good thing that leads to persuasion against the people on your side. It's not really how president trump works. President trump wants to work through surprise and unpredictability. And so he's not going to be really laying the groundwork for any operation. Uh, he's going to continue his rhetoric. So he'll continue to say we need something from iran. They better. They better obey these red lines that i've set down or else. They're going to face uh punishment. They're going to face reprisal, but you're not going to get into the nitty gritty. And of course, we know for president trump, he does not want to risk american lives. Speaker 4 01:09:58 He's, very uh, he's very understanding that the American people uh may react negatively to casualties from an operation gone wrong. He's rolled the dice quite a few times, Midnight Hammer. We hit our target, asset resolved, incredible. They're just taking Maduro right before the fault was about to close and protect it right now. He's in New York jail. What, what's the question you need here is why does he roll the dice in Iran? What is that going to look like? And I think right now there's a lot of military planning happening. What is a type of spectacular dramatic attack that will both punish the Iranian regime and telegraph to elements within within regime. And in the Iranian people at large, you need to make massive changes in behavior. The guy totally needs to go or else more will come. I think you're probably talking about how we are as well at a reasonable period of time because it comes out on my radio station Mac Conney, thank you. Paul Mike actually Conney three degrees expression, very important national dialogue editorial journal. And we'll talk again next week. Thank you very much. Coming up by Ben Domenech host of the Big Ben podcast on the Fox Podcast Network. Friends of the program as well, Ben, You agree with the gentleman and me that it looks like Iran is about to go full halo. And we have to welcome it? Well, I think it's a long time point doing uh parties, uh, a little party by Biden um, but he's not going to be playing here. Newborns are not going to do anything. You haven't do anything you have to get complete pass for three years. Just just again off that test back three days ago, I could get into this situation where we're gonna get a thirteen. There's really been signaling some suppression at that point. We've forgotten in the last word I'm here completely. So I had myself I could have been sensitive ability has certainly had some setbacks. He had this because of his work. I think the idea that like president's a restraint comes from, but he's in the law. The second secretary of state was here, And Lindsey Graham is channeling your father law. Every minute. He gets a chance to do it. I don't see anyone saying no, not on my watch. I am going to do what you need to do enough until we have the answer now. But, you don't have a way of trying to navigate this with China without being soft on some of these issues. We've got to cut off our own people from even remain one person, and I think that that could be one that he is making personally. I know it is because they're going to be. Speaker 4 01:11:53 I think that this is certainly something that we need to do. What you think about this, I mean, I don't know if there's an idea of what the real uncertainty is going to happen here on this. It's pretty obvious. So, I mean, I don't probably further anything unless it's trying to make it responsible for getting by the street around three or four, if they can find a further running regime before they get into murder and start out looking at people. And now I think you've got to go up our forces because we can't allow American forces to be killed in great numbers in any case. And, so it's going to be a while ; we're going to have these things take place. My question would be : Do you think anyone has done what they need to do? The administration side to prepare the American public for anything? I remember, before he went up, the only number one that we were second just bigger than him. And i remember him somewhere, i actually said my new book about it. I know you're following press. Do you think that the groundwork for rating the American public for casualties? Because that's why we understand withdrawal went so badly for Joe Biden. We didn't expect any casualties, we lost thirteen. I do not believe that they have, I do not believe they have been close to president has been, and I should say it was one of the things that he actually really incredible. What he's able to pull off with help American casualties in terms of his approach that he's used at this point on when it comes to our security more policy around the globe. He has to keep rolling those dice and expecting them always go your way. I think this is a very little work has been done at all to show the American people. One, This is something that they need to understand comes with a lot more risk than national control. Trading may now make across about leaders as well as a lot more risk too in their lives and a lot more potential over their families. Speaker 4 01:12:49 I don't think I'm not seeing the public. I mean, what do you call that? You know, I mean, I tell people, "I've been to Jerusalem twice now. Look at my retirement. " My twenty about the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps. It's one hundred fifty thousand caps, and now they got about a hundred hands. There have got to be, there must be at least a thousand times Israel by like ten, seven, thirty thousand people are not to be murdered in forty eight hours, and there won't be any amnesty for the IRGC. If there's a regime swap, whether we're all no, we're not going to have this situation here. So they're you know activity, they uh like again again, I. Don't think this is something that Duke University has an interest in play on it and help build up their institution. But um unlike um on that particular point of fact, the guy who threw uh shot him. Speaker 4 01:13:19 Have you already argued with anyone? This regime showed us who they are. Believe me, they will kill thirty thousand of their own people. We should expect them to want to kill every American, every Israeli, even when they can't. Then they'll turn to the city. I haven't heard that argument. No, I haven't, And certainly not from the people who matter in this and the way that most people would do it. And look at a lot of that ; I think is a distraction and a reluctance to be a person now advocating for it. But it depends on the big deal. If they look at the long standing, probably obviously not to the bottom. You know, we don't get back to a pro round world. We know that he's going to take that risk. We want more powers, We know what Iran is looking for today and what they're like like a full actual point of view would mean potentially a reason there were if you were in order here because we just think everything is why I like. So one of these reasons where I wouldn't have been that kind of indication that might be indicative of something pretty quick um you know, because it's exactly right from being the same time. One, you could have no books in reverse. Correct. Yes. So I was actually I was also about doing it. So that was nice too. See exactly I still. Uh what we watched this, but nineteen eighty two watch your jays with uh seventeen, yeah, yeah and read the Washington Post. Actually it was good paper. We're going to talk about that during the break because we have to, but I just am just. Speaker 4 01:14:17 Uh, very happy that someone can remember nineteen ninety one. The site group you know what I am talking about. You were around though for the first Iranian revolution, right? You weren't there in nineteen eighty two. Yeah, every time I do an airline on that this week. Don't go anywhere, America. I'll be right back with Ben Domenech from Real Clear Politics at five twelve and then he'll be back. I gotta do like ten minutes at eight ten, and then nine, twelve Don't go anywhere. If they do it on a single point of view, don't you from the lead actor dot com to watch your life lead actor dot com I am back with Ben Domenech Ben. My policy never to talk about someone for life, so work for Washington Post again, realclearpolitics dot com Now not gonna say this at all. But what you said about the sports section is the only big bad flaw is objectionable If. You are having a sports section, Are not showing something different to American sports. People And. Look, this is what people care about when they do their thing, They forget it all when they think. Speaker 4 01:15:39 And you know, of course, The problem with that as well is that no media is particularly big or cheerleader against President Biden. Then Washington Post makes millions and millions of newspapers on demand by people who click on it and say they want to read their coverage of their favorite team. And unfortunately, this is what we're looking at: there was glowing coverage. You will not find a negative article about Mayor Happen in Washington Post. But then you'll find more criticism about that name, you know, More criticism change it to climb him when they come to later deployed finding ways to do it. What do you think about that? Is it just because I could this would be usually with an entirely set of politics every session? You know people were New York Rose, but that's all I'm going to say about the post going to come back with down on the other side. Again, my guest today, too tomorrow. Speaker 4 01:16:07 Welcome back, everyone. I'm your host Ben Golliver, and you're listening to the "Chosen to Be Ben" podcast, Which you're probably going to find out why because we talk a lot about gambling stuff. I didn't know that when I started this week. So if you've heard of this before, it's good. Before we go there, Ben though I want to run my test : Have you ever heard of the screenwriter Richard Curtis? No idea at all. He wrote "Love Actually." He wrote "Notting Hill. " So last night, I was just getting into watching " N otti ng H ill " again by my wonderful wife with me for years. That's interesting because so how long have you been married? Well, Like six years or something like that now by myself like that We are eight years this year ;. We'll be eight years this year. So do you have a chance at the beginning movies he was talking about? So I don't remember anything but like Lion King now. And women remember every Lion King scene in Hong Kong, and men don't. You agree with me? Oh no, I have to disagree with you. The reason is believe it or not, I actually pretend like a guy who's into comedy. Well, no, they all love actually probably the girl they're like Hong Kong. I know, but my wife is a bit more of like a princess, bride hero, kind of person, and something that's like that is worse for me. Like, the thing that's just something like an entire generation. Yes. But the thing we actually go back and forth about this time uh, are you still stuff from like that show? No and I took my boys to see Team America when I thought it was actually a fun movie. And they were chilling in the background. Uh, yeah, it was funny. There was a fun movie, but it wasn't for them at that age. So i think i think they're unfortunately taking on these movies too late. Speaker 4 01:17:02 I have no idea. The Guardian, the last thing I remember, He gave up the car until that's forty eight different games over a couple of seasons. We start teasing out the game now to do that. The Guardian Indians have been crushing today. Now I find out you go to May and not talk about every night spend at market on what someone's going to say on the Colbert show? That's nuts! Yeah, So this prediction market has got more things with activity than advertising on Toshi, and people probably stuff about hockey markets online. And prediction markets are usually talked about are ones where about significant events that if they're, you know what is a federal government? There is not Hillary for Nash or something, you know, on way over that was no, no, if you want to take this for, but if you want to predict the Academy Award for next Oscar winner, But what people don't talk about in this is they're so unregulated that in instances of positive day as a best. Is going to now now talk about. He was doing the market for something he had already done. He had done a Colbert show, which they taped typically around five o'clock, And then there was a market that had been about seeing if he would stay on the program, which creates a horrible situation where you are predicting something that's already happened. And that stuff is perfectly okay according to these prediction markets, Which, by the way, California does not allow sports gambling, but you will be able to do it in San Francisco before the Super Bowl. You could do this kind of prediction marketplace that is a swap or a contract into your different properties where gambling doesn't have those sorts of sports books. And I think it has a real problem, and I think the Congress is leading up to it. But there are lots of people who are I think blowing a lot of money on this. So what what they raised for me as I listen to with the background of The Guardian player being banned from baseball effectively for the rest of his career, whether or not they're connected I don't know Do you think. Speaker 4 01:17:59 Baseball has the regulatory structure where the NBA went to stop prediction market gambling by players versus gambling gambling. I think that they're not, especially because and I didn't really get into this on the show, but I think you're passing on something there, Which is that prediction markets are technically just they're governed by the says they're governed under the CFTC, and they have uh, they do have kind of state regulations and things like that. And, they also, you know, obviously aren't involving contracts and swaps that are considered different than you know, legally than sports gambling. Um, even though if you if you look at the actual makeup of their markets, The majority uh nearly majority I should say, uh, a plurality I should say of these prediction markets money. That's moving around is about sports. So it's just a substitute for sports gambling in states that haven't allowed it. I think the commissioner got it right now. The Patriots make course to Super Bowl in my last guess, and I can ask this stuff. I i'm going to be fine, which is very good, because i'm torn my grapples in ohio state. God, i can't imagine how he'd live with a patriots fan during the summer if they win another ring. I don't care about the Seahawks, So I'm not going to care about anything except what the reaction to Bad Bunny is going to be. Has Roger Goodell made a momentous error, or is it in fact something that will be forgotten by next week? I think this is an error, But I also think it's gonna be something that's forgotten by next week because I think one thing that Bad Bunny is, he's actually not that bad. He's pretty corporate. He doesn't embody any of the, you know likely sort of uh the expectations of most hardcore sports fans in America. I don't think that's gonna happen. And I think if Bad Bunny were to be something that probably does unlock this, because if we're talking about him, wanting to have some anti - ice display or something like that, It's possible, but he does act. But i think on a certain level, if you do that, then then there'll be toxic. Moments will follow you around for your career and eliminate a whole bunch of people. And again, probably good for his shoes too. So it's plenty things, but i think ultimately will probably be forgotten. As for as for the game, i just have to say. Speaker 4 01:18:57 Yes, yes. I just such a rough career got chewed up in New York, playing for everything, hacked off by everybody. The Panthers cut him. Vikings let him go. And he's in the studio now. I got word from you though on and Malinowski in New Jersey on Fox back about a half hour ago. I did hate that Tennessee message, which if you can't be on the fence about Israel to Malinowski, everybody's Democrat. You might be a far left wacko and hate Israel, but you can't be on the fence when it comes to Ben Shapiro. I think that they did. And I think part of that is, you know the assumption, you know what is what is the line from uh Love All The People You Know Because You Were Either Hot Or Cold Like That Out There? Do you think that's actually revelation isn't it? Or yeah oh, I thought was really cool. But one thing but one thing that I think is. True of this nature now forty times, which says we are not going to tolerate this type of wavering neutrality, but we're going to assume that they're going to be, you know, at the wheel of the transmission, even though where you stand I I think that's very much. And I think that's what he proceeds for every democrat Ben Domenech back to parenting. Uh have a great weekend, enjoy the super bowl as much as possible with a baby and two toddlers and enjoy it. I appreciate your party here with a big deal. Oh, you're gonna go party, yes with toddlers. Oh, no, oh, go. Oh, you got a coupon, you won best tweet nice salute, all right? That's amazing. Uh, thank you, Ben for joining us. We'll talk again next week. Don't go anywhere America. Speaker 3 01:23:10 No. Oh, now you answer my calls. Speaker 6 01:23:12 Well, I happened to be in the back. Speaker 3 01:23:17 Are you in there now? Do you need to call me back? Speaker 6 01:23:20 No, I just came out and sat down. Okay. So and and just as I was coming towards the chair, I realized what's that sound? And then I realized oh that's the phone. Speaker 6 01:23:37 So how are you doing? It's been a long time. Not quite. But anyhow, I miss you. I miss you too, Speaker 3 01:23:50 Grandma. Um. No, things are good. Um. Things are good, you know? God's still in control so I'm still in control. My my uh. My kids keep me busy. My wife keeps me working, you know? Speaker 3 01:24:07 And how is work going Oh, work's going well. Um. You know we're starting to see the success pay off at uh. You know and my you know I've been rebuilding this team and uh. Um it's starting to click with them. So it's nice to to be able to. You know, start seeing not just see. Um. Not just to be able to see like. You know good people, but and getting things done well, but getting getting things done well and fast, you know so. It's been good. Speaker 6 01:24:56 That is a little different, isn't it? Speaker 3 01:24:60 Yeah Oh it's been You know. Speaker 3 01:25:05 It's been a it's been a journey. It's been a journey, Speaker 6 01:25:09 Yes, and your relationship with Corey. Corey, yeah, Speaker 3 01:25:16 I was going to say Brody, but Cody. Yeah no Corey Corey's it's getting you know it's it's better. You know we don't we don't uh lately when we fight, we're not mad how's that? We're fighting, For ideas, not fighting. You know. For mistakes or anything, you know. So that that's good practice. Speaker 1 01:25:49 Yeah. Yeah. So. Speaker 3 01:25:55 So and you and you're happy? Uh, I'm I'm uh. Speaker 3 01:26:05 I'm content with the look with the with the place that the Lord is putting in. How's that? Well, that's good. Speaker 6 01:26:13 I mean, you endured quite a few years, so you're reaping what you endured. Speaker 3 01:26:19 Yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't do i want to You know? I i I took a job interview today that went well. I have another one on Wednesday. I hope i hope that I see some progress with with those You know, i'd still like to leave, But I I don't you know, I don't hate my life or anything. I just. Speaker 6 01:26:40 And do you have a job? Speaker 3 01:26:41 Yeah, I have a job so. Um. Yeah, Speaker 6 01:26:48 So and how how are these new jobs? Are they interesting to you? Speaker 3 01:26:54 Um, I don't So one of them, i i just found out what it was this morning. i got the job description. Speaker 3 01:27:03 And it's like yeah, yeah, yeah. That's that's. I can do that. Um, but they don't tell you who the company is or the industry so. You know. So you kind of have to do some guessing until you're actually talking to the guy, you know. So um but uh You know so but they're I I like the idea of what they're trying to accomplish on the one and the other one. Um, Ashley Ann applied for me, and so I have to go and figure out it's a bigger position, and so I have to go. So I did all my homework to prepare for this one, and now I got to do my homework to prepare for the next one. So we'll we'll see. I try not to get too invested in them because um. Speaker 3 01:27:58 If you don't make it past the first round, then. You know, you spent all this time being prepared for nothing, and and the first round is more. You know. It's not as. Uh high level if you know what I mean it's more. Sometimes, it's just a flip of a coin. You did everything right? They still don't like you, You know or or so I uh. Speaker 3 01:28:28 Yeah, I don't know. We'll see. Speaker 6 01:28:30 Well, you're still in the Lord's hand. Speaker 3 01:28:33 Yeah, yeah, That's why I in my interview today was probably the most calm I've been, because I just said, you know what? If the Lord wants me to have it, then I'll have it and I'm just going to talk because I think that's where i when i when i'm just being me, then i do better When I worry about the right answer or whatever. Then i tend to stumble a little bit. Speaker 6 01:28:59 So. Yes, and and and all in all you still have a job. Right. Right, that's good. Speaker 3 01:29:08 And how are the kids doing? Kids are doing well, I'm uh, you know, we're we're preparing for Eric to go into high school next year. So I can't believe that. Right. So, how old is he? Fourteen? He's fourteen, yeah. Oh my goodness. And how how are the others doing? Um, the other ones are doing well. Um, Ben's um You know, so Ben will be in, you know, right now, he's in sixth grade, so he'll be in junior high next year, and then. Speaker 3 01:29:56 Uh, Matthew, we're going to move him back into a uh normal school next year. So not not one that that is kind of supplemental for you know, his dyslexia and stuff. Um. So, we kind of have big things going around all the way, you know, um just trying to navigate through it all. But all in all, I've got I've got some good kids. Enjoy them. And uh. You know. Speaker 6 01:30:31 And. Yes, and it's a job. Yeah, Speaker 3 01:30:35 Yeah, but it's not. Not unpleasant Most of the time. It's not unpleasant. There are certain days where I just like yesterday, I was it had been a long week and I just. Speaker 3 01:30:53 Walked outside and said," You know, I am just going to stay out here for a little bit. I don't have anything to do out here, but I am definitely not going back in there." Speaker 6 01:31:07 And how how is actually doing? Speaker 3 01:31:11 She's doing she's doing well. She'sum it's it's kind of uh go time at work for her right now. So she's. She's super super busy. And I'm trying to figure out how to come alongside of her in a way that is actually wanted. And helpful. Speaker 6 01:31:34 Yeah. So, yeah. She she needs she needs uh uh Is it too much for you guys? Speaker 3 01:31:47 What's that? That Work. Speaker 3 01:31:53 No, I mean, I don't think so. You know, it's a lot of work. Everything that we have going on, people are constantly going," How do you do it all?" It's like you just do it. Speaker 6 01:32:02 Yeah. Um. Speaker 3 01:32:05 But you just do it, you know? Um So I mean I've got a good relationship with my employees. I've got a good relationship with my my wife. Got a good relationship with my children and, You know, um. I've got a good relationship with, with you know I think the Lord and and uh. Ultimately, if he wanted us to be, if he wanted things to be different than he would change it. You know so. Speaker 6 01:32:39 Yeah yeah yeah so it's keeping on. It's just keeping on keeping on. Speaker 3 01:32:47 Right right yeah. I mean I think you know. Speaker 3 01:32:54 Ashley Ann's working on this a little bit more than I am because I think I've already kind of tackled this a little bit, you know, before she has. But it doesn't really matter. I mean, the Lord's in control so why are you worried about it? You know, It's um and so I'm just trying to get her to kind of lay down the anxiety a little bit. So I know it's a lot for her. Yes, Speaker 6 01:33:28 She she likes perfection, doesn't she? Um. Speaker 3 01:33:35 No, I don't think it's perfection. I think that she's constantly trying to please everybody and and she's also procrastinator. And so she's always behind. And so you know, it creates a. You know, an environment for her that's. You know. Speaker 6 01:33:59 Yes, I understand. Yeah. Yeah, so uh Are you fifty already? Speaker 3 01:34:08 No. How dare you? Well, it's like years ago by you know I'm still mid forties grandma forty five, I have. I have five more years. Well, Speaker 6 01:34:27 You know, forty- five is such a good age. It's I think it's sort of the perfect age. I don't know, Speaker 3 01:34:35 I'm mentally I feel pretty good, But physically I think this is where the Lord, you know and the Lord has constantly been. This is forty- five is like Have you accepted yet that you're that. That you're you're gonna die, you know it's it's it's uh like where everything's breaking, you know, um. Speaker 3 01:35:02 Does That make sense? Speaker 6 01:35:04 It makes sense but. Uh. I'm twice your age. It's true more. Speaker 3 01:35:13 Than twice my age but what I. Speaker 3 01:35:20 So, um, I think that the difficulty and I don't look uh I am full. I i am in the Lord's plan. So i i make jokes, but but I think having no, what I mean is is i i make a big deal like, oh, I am dying. I am breaking. Am this. And I think that there is an aspect of it, you know, Where if you do kind of get punched in the face a little bit when you hit your forties. Because before, you know, oh I am not strong enough. I just no problem. I push, you know, push a little harder. We'll get there right? Um but in your forties it's like no don't push too hard. You might break something and then you won't come back for years. You know so you know I am. Speaker 3 01:36:17 Everything's about easy does it, you know. And uh, So I'm I'm actually I'm just now on my third week in a row of exercise where I haven't hurt anything. And that's a milestone for me. So. Speaker 6 01:36:38 You haven't hurt anything? Contrary or No, Speaker 3 01:36:42 Hurt. I I haven't injured myself. And I've been able to exercise for three weeks in a row without injuring myself. Right, and so. I haven't been able to do that in years, so. Because my old injuries would keep on. It's like oh, I got a week, Oh, man, now it really hurts two weeks. Oh, you know, and now I finally got, you know, I think I'm over my injuries. And so now I'm. Speaker 3 01:37:16 Just still trying to take it easy does it. So. Oh, that's such a blessing, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Uh now I'm really, really, really sore. So oh, Again, Well, just sore from exercise. So oh, It's a good sore, but normally it goes away in a day, and now we're on day four. So. Takes a while. You you all I think you all were did it. Maybe. But the boys wanted to prac- wanted to work out with me, so I did. Oh, and are they sore? Well, they were sore the next day. I don't think they're still sore though. So We'll see. Speaker 6 01:38:07 And have have they grown a lot? Speaker 3 01:38:10 Um Yeah, I mean they they uh They're both, You know, Eric's getting pretty big. Um. You know, he's taller than Ashley Ann now. So, and then Ben's trying to get smaller. So Ben's Ben's actually been losing weight and whatnot. He's been pretty been trying to lower his his caloric intake. And so he's been kind of happy with with you know everything lately, because he's lost like three pounds in the last two weeks. So. Speaker 3 01:38:44 Oh my. Speaker 6 01:38:47 And and the little one. Speaker 3 01:38:51 I don't know what time is it, you know. Depending on the time, he could be going, He could be living his best life, or or wanting to burn it all down. Speaker 6 01:39:01 Yeah yeah yeah well but are they being difficult? No. Speaker 3 01:39:08 I mean there there are times where it's you know, he and I got into it. Speaker 3 01:39:14 Uh, Yesterday, actually in the morning, and uh you know, he wouldn't back down, and then we went to church, and he was still mad at me. And then then he went to Sunday school, and I went to go pick him up from Sunday school, and the lady goes Matthew is just a sweet, sweet boy. You know, he behaves so well. We love him so much. Speaker 3 01:39:45 And uh, I said, "Matty, you still mad at me?" And he's like, "No." And I'm like, "Okay. Because your teacher said such good things about you. I'm gonna i'm gonna reduce your consequences." So. Thanks to uh. You know. So. But yeah he's a good he's a really good kid. He's just sometimes he has a hard time letting go. You know. Um. Speaker 6 01:40:15 They're all so different, aren't they? Speaker 3 01:40:17 They are. They're all very, very different. Speaker 6 01:40:23 So you have to know how to deal with each one of them. Yeah. Speaker 3 01:40:29 So I hear you've got a new elevator. Speaker 6 01:40:33 Yes, I do yes and and I'm I'm upstairs now. Speaker 3 01:40:41 Yeah, I heard you're trying to you're still trying to climb the stairs though. Speaker 6 01:40:49 I have all my life, so I. So I. I think I in a way, I just don't want to let go. But the elevator is very, very nice. Very, very nice. And they did they did a good a good good job on that too. Good on that too, And your dad is so nice to take care of you. He better be. He's very, very caring and I appreciate that. Well, There's I mean there's two of us. So I mean a lot to take care of. Yeah but it's his pleasure. Speaker 6 01:41:49 Yes, and I mean, he took me to the doctor today. I mean, so I would say so caring, so loving. It was just nice. Nice. So I really appreciate it. And, And then, then I came and slept. Yeah. So. Uh, but. I didn't, I was awake during the night. So I think I just needed to uh get get a head of sleep. Uh. So uh and it it was. Speaker 6 01:42:47 You know all about that place. Cause you you always stay. Speaker 1 01:42:53 Yeah, yeah. Speaker 6 01:42:55 And isn't it so beautiful? Speaker 3 01:42:58 Yeah, I enjoy it. And it's a comfy bed too. Yes, Speaker 6 01:43:06 Yes, and I don't know how it was before, or if it has changed, but it all looks It all looks so nice. And. Now you have the. I'm thinking in Spanish, the. The thing that goes up and down, ascensor. The elevator? Elevator yes. Yeah. So, uh but you don't mind sharing me this service do you? Speaker 3 01:43:38 No, no in fact I better, you know. And and you know. Speaker 3 01:43:45 If I don't use it, I lose it. So. Speaker 3 01:43:51 Yeah. But but the same thing for you, but you can't say the same thing because I tell you. I lost, you know, I lost one grandparent to falling and I know somebody else that that uh. Lost a grandparent to just falling over, you know so You're not allowed stairs. Speaker 6 01:44:15 Yes, yes. I uh I I I don't think I would appreciate it. Speaker 3 01:44:23 Yeah, so Grandma, i've never told you, i've never told you what to do. But this time i'm telling you what to do. Don't no stairs for you. Speaker 6 01:44:33 Well, thank you and and your your dad has been so so caring and so nice. And i mean. It's so so well appreciated. So well appreciated.
