Speaker 1 00:00:14 Good, happy Monday. Speaker 2 00:00:15 Yeah, happy Monday. You know, I called you on Friday. I was okay; my eyeballs you're allowed to, but i was going to have a life. I had a I had a whole thing. I was going to go. You know, I'm the girl that you know, he, he said, he loves me,;. He said he wants to marry me and. We take our relationship to the next level, but he won't give me the ring. I don't know. Speaker 1 00:00:46 I Love it. That's hilarious. You're good. Okay, Let let me tell you what what our plan is moving forward and just make sure we're all on the same page, full transparency and go from there, right? Okay. Um, There's there's nothing really changed much with the exception of the fact that I know you and I talked about a big roster. I am gonna do it. Um, I haven't talked to the team. I started talking to them, but I want to talk to the parents, Which is why I haven't done any of the team snap stuff because I don't want them all freaking out, right? I still have these other kids coming to try out. I am planning probably to get uh, probably seventeen or eighteen for this season, knowing we're going eleven by eleven anyway. Um, Maddie's taking a minute to acclimate, right? Game one had nerves game two. Speaker 1 00:01:37 Wasn't quite himself yet. I don't know what that necessarily means in fall. I am going to do it week by week. Um, you know, everyone's there; they're working hard and training. Whoever's showing up working hard is going to earn the right to make the game day roster for the week. Anyone who and i'll I'll decide that probably Wednesday or Thursday practice, so we can do the roster proper. And then my plan is. Anybody, who is possibly not going to be able to play, because you know, I am only allowed to field fourteen on game day rosters, I'll give the option. So like um uh Justice as an example, right? He might want to go play with Paco's team. He told me on the weeks where he doesn't um you know, perform well in training. I want to create a healthy and uh competition within the team, right? So. Speaker 1 00:02:34 I would do the same with Matthew, where it's like, look, you don't have to. You could still come. Um, it doesn't mean he's not playing that week. I just wouldn't know week by week. And if he would prefer, he could go play games with uh with Ian that week or that tournament. And and it's going to change as we go on right? That's my plan moving forward because I am sick of like you saw what happened Sunday right, where even though we have. You know, Twelve on the roster ended up being a ton of minutes for for Justice and Matthew, because kids aren't available or maybe they're not playing well. Um, And I am not willing to sit around and wait for them to, you know, mom and dad figure it out. If you want to be, if you are missing three trainings, you are not going to make the game day roster. Right? I need everyone to feel the need, but I don't want you guys going in without a clear. Speaker 1 00:03:32 Expect. We we already talked about this before, right? I don't want to set him up saying, "Hey, he's not going to have a shot at that," because I absolutely don't think that's the case. But I also want to be clear what you are walking into. And if that's not the fit, I want to be able to tell you with enough time that you guys can make an additional informed decision. Why have I not moved him over on the team step is because I haven't had a chance to tell everyone else the exact plan. I am telling you because they're all going to panic and go, "Why are you carrying so many?" And it goes back to like this weekend we were supposed to scrimmage. All right, We were supposed to play the same team that Ian's team played like two hours later, and I only had seven that were available. That doesn't work for me. So I am sick of waiting like Can you come or can't you? If I have a big roster, I know I can always fill the team and I am just going to continue to play. But. Speaker 1 00:04:28 Weeks where everyone's available, It's going to boil down to who did best in practice or who did best in the last game. And it's uh uh like Edson Doris is you know performance culture. Hey, let's just keep stats on this stuff. Let's see who's doing what. Right. Does that make sense? And and I just wanted to be very clear with you. Speaker 2 00:04:49 It makes sense and you know, I think Jesse, you and I have kind of a good understanding of, you know, let's, Let's, you know. So, I want to be careful in in you know. I've got I've got some concerns and I want to say them to you. But there, but but I might not word it well. So if you feel like I just stabbed you in the heart, I i, i want you to back up and tell me. I'm i'm You know. No, don't don't. Speaker 1 00:05:19 Don't don't. Uh I would rather have these conversations early because we are friends and. Can get a sick page or not versus deal will later, right? So voice your concerns and we go from there. Speaker 2 00:05:34 So you you've always got an agenda you are driving, right? And I know that and and sometimes that doesn't look like kids are getting represented fairly. Um, right? So if you are trying to do something specific with a particular kid. You know, let's just use Maddie for example. If he's diving in and you are trying to teach him don't dive in, he dives in. You got to make the lesson, but you know, but he played better than I am just making this up now. But he played better than um somebody's not competing. We'll call it Corey Jimmy since they're not. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right. Somebody's not competing with. And it's like yeah, but then you know, so now, yeah, Frank got more minutes than than Maddie did. And it looks like, you know Maddie's getting the. Speaker 2 00:06:21 You know, I know that you do that stuff right. Like I and I accept that right because to me, that's true player development. Um, yep. I have I've always kind of felt like um your original kids are like your your kids, you know. And the rest of them are like, I love them but am but going to save my kids first. Um and am. Speaker 2 00:06:51 I want to if you tell me, Brayden, Maddie's going to be one of my boys. Then I am game because I think Maddie can stand up to, we'll call ninety percent of the players on that team. Um, I just want to make sure that he's getting um and maybe we're seeing something different. Um, that's that's the wrong way to say it but um, As long as the but that's go ahead, go ahead. Speaker 1 00:07:22 But that's, but that's the type of dialogue. You and I can always have where you might see it different and I go. Hey, no, this is what I saw in that moment and you go. Okay, I see it now don't have to agree, but at least I see your perspective right? Right. I i am not going to. My plan is not to not give fair opportunity to all, but there are some that need to feel a little and and listen. T here is moments where like this this. The twenty sixteen, they should have never scored on us, right? That was that was a moment where I was lacking attacking prowess. And Ethan, who is somebody I literally don't take off the field, right? The kid is a phenomenal one v one defender. And but sometimes you know he gets in his own head. But I needed him to attack. And, he is not a goal scorer, but scored four because they couldn't keep up with him. Right? It gave me depth in that moment. Um. Speaker 1 00:08:19 But that gives me a different look. That's a whole new perspective for me. And in saying, well, you know, his technical ability held him back from being an attacking player. Maybe, he is going to be an attacking player for part of the season. So I can get him ready to play as a right back. And you know, our four - back system later. So there are things that I can start playing with, right? We can always have dialogue. I think that It was difficult, right? Because as you are saying, "Hey, you know what?" Game one, Matty plunged in. He wasn't left on long enough to continue to make mistakes. There was also, you know, Our first game with two new kiddos that are coming in that we're still trying to figure stuff out. And I also couldn't afford to have to correct that more in that moment. And he wasn't at his best, right? And I just think he's always up for the talent the challenge. Speaker 1 00:09:16 Right, Matthew is so solid. I think sometimes it takes him a minute to acclimate and understand what I want in that moment, so that's part of why that happened in game two. You know, I was you know pleasantly surprised in some moments. There are some moments I am like, "Look, This is a year younger team, and they're not great ;. You should be standing out more against them." But again, new environment, new team new people around him. Matthew needs to be given the grace of more time. But if I based it on game two, then I would have concerns of you know, is he going to be three months before he fully gets comfortable? Is it going to be three weeks or three days? I don't know. Knowing him, I know he has rises to the challenges. I know that he will be given fair opportunity, but what's that timeline look like, right? Speaker 1 00:10:12 Like when he first came, even on the other team, it took him a minute. I figured him out, Figured out how to get what I needed from him and bring the best out of him. I would assume the same would happen here, but if it took two months instead of two weeks, I don't want us walking into a situation where I have frustrations that we could have just nullified before we started. Does that make sense? Speaker 2 00:10:39 Yeah yeah look, I am not. I am not. It's it's it's one of those things where I, I am giving you actually more leeway than I would give anybody else because I trust you, right? Yeah, and so the problem is is that my when my radar starts going off, right? i i, And I don't listen to it, I always regret. And so this is why you are getting a very open like Jesse, you know, because it was like, you know, I am seeing stuff, and it's like I know you are handling. You are juggling a lot. You are juggling a lot of just B S right. And so I know you are doing things differently. And. So my radar is pinging partly because of that and partly because it's like it's my son, right. It's so yeah as as it should and and so. Speaker 1 00:11:37 And so, and I am not saying it's justified to have it up, but I also want to make sure that you should. We want to make sure that it's the best environment for him, Speaker 2 00:11:47 Right? Right. And so go ahead. No, Ultimately, I think if you say, you know, because I think you know, like we're all in right, like what you will, you will never have a situation where you go. Oh, I didn't hear back from them. McLeish's, so I couldn't do it. You know, I couldn't do a scrimmage. You will know, right? Hey, yeah, we told you two months in advance that we're going out of town. Other than that, we're there. You know, or somebody died, right? Speaker 1 00:12:16 So Amy said it best. She and I were chatting because I always do right, and she's a sounding board for me, always probably more than she wants to even have to And. She's like the McLeish's are phenomenal teammates like not. Not just Maddie, right? You guys are great teammates, right? That's the type of family you want as teammates. I have belief and faith in what I think Maddie is going to be. I don't know his timeline on when it's going to click because he's already been doing great, right? We know in his other environment he's the man, right? He's lived that, you know. Speaker 1 00:12:60 Not to say he won't be here, right? We just I think game one I gave grace for sure. Game two, like I said, we're playing Willie. That team, you know, they're going to be a good flight one twenty fifteen sixteen team, right? But I didn't think anything stellar right. And I was hoping that I got more from them there. Um but by the same token, this is only game two, a bunch of new kids. Um, defensive assignments. So what we identified, and you got to keep a few things in mind as well. Different formation completely different defensive assignments, right? So, we keep one free floating six, with that team, three, two, one, two, with the idea that so those first two goals that were scored had nothing to do with my back line. It have everything to do with the free six, not shifting, right? And and it was because normally Micah Graves is there. Speaker 1 00:13:58 Right, and Micah was out of town, so you have Corey who normally plays there with Micah. They have an understanding, right? You are throwing in you know Remy, brand new to the team; he's all over the place. Right? He's had all of three games with us. Um, and so I think the back line had extra pressure. So I don't know what that really even looks like with him. So I give grace there too but But it just raised my own red flags and say, if this takes longer than I think, how comfortable is he going to be? And, if I can make sure that he still has, you know, plenty of opportunities week by week with me to earn it and do well. And if it's not, And he still can make sure we're having him play if he so chose to, is he going to be okay with that during that transition? And if not, I'd rather not go into it. Speaker 1 00:14:54 Because I don't want to have him fall out of love with it, And my genuine care for him as a player, and you guys as a family means more to me than you know. Forcing something that is, is you know, square peg round hole. Yeah, does that make sense? Absolutely. Um i I want to be very clear; I am not retracting anything, But I want you guys knowing what it could possibly look like without a, i don't know the light at the end of the tunnel. It could be like, I said. Could be a week, could take all of spring. So, Which leads me to my other point, : I am going to have some of the players on the black team. We will call it that are sort of having some minute issues. I am going to have them fill in either with Ian, take some of Ian's play with me all through spring, so I can make sure I find the best. Speaker 1 00:15:53 Balance for fall, But I am not going to ask those players that are already on the team to move. So if they're they're going to stay, they might be in that same bubble. Right? It might be Matthew becoming one of those sixes. I don't know yet. We have to allow it, but these decisions need to be made big This is horse before carriage, right? Because this is now I am intending to carry a big roster. I am going to be upfront and tell everyone that, But I want them also to feel the pressure, the existing roster. Like, look, you are complacent, right? You are just you are too comfortable. And t here is people on your heels that want your spot that are as good and might be doing better than you. And they're going to take your spot. So let's all work hard together. But if I don't walk into that with an understanding of what I am doing, Then like I said, if if you know, three weeks go by and he's not on a game day roster, am I going to lose him? Speaker 1 00:16:51 Not you as a family, not his respect for me, but lose him as a player. Is he mentally going to lose it? And if so, we need to be very clear what that looks like. And if that's the case, then is that the right thing for Matthew to do? Yeah. Does that make sense? I just want to be like I am trying to be as as blunt as I can, you know. Speaker 2 00:17:12 Yeah, i I know the the uh issue is that it almost comes off as like. And again, This is just me kind of like ensuring that my nothing on my radar is it's like it almost comes off. It's like, man, I made a commitment and and uh and I am gonna stick through it. But not the case at all. So I want to make. That's that's what I am trying to like tease out. Speaker 1 00:17:41 Yeah, not the case at all. Not the case at all. Speaker 2 00:17:43 Okay, Good. Good. So here is I told Ash that I was, you know, Ash saw me moving around this stuff on the calendar. And she called me up. She going, "What's going on?" And I go, "I don't know yet, but I got this," you know. And she's like, and she brought up a good point. And here is the part: She's like, "Look, Maddie's not that kid." He told his coach he's gonna make captain. You know? So if he's given the chance, you know? He'll make that happen. But he can't turn back. Speaker 2 00:18:19 You know, he's not that kid. He will he will not do wellum if they turn him back. So, and she's like, and that will be a big issue for me. Um, understand? So does that mean that we can't help out? No. Do I do I do I want to be He's. Speaker 1 00:18:40 Not required to know this. That's I know that's my whole point. Speaker 2 00:18:42 But again we're teammates right? Like yeah, but I, but I don't want to be the guy. That's that's it's like. Oh. You know, it's like I mean you've you've especially you run your like your store right? Like it's like who do who do you ask to to take on a shift? The guy that'll always say yes first. You know so yeah yeah. You know and and it's like I don't mind helping just as long as we understand each other and I am given full opportunity, You know which you have already said, then I am good, bro, let's go. You know Matty will handle it and if he doesn't handle it um. Speaker 2 00:19:16 Let me say it differently. If he doesn't succeed at the rate to which he wants to succeed, that's he'll need my help, but that's on him and that's an opportunity for him to learn. But. Speaker 1 00:19:29 That's where a dialogue needs to happen where you and I always do, and you say what is the game model? What are we trying to accomplish? What are we not doing and how can we be better at it? Right. And, as long as you're getting all of those things and checking those boxes and then going out and doing the extra work. Then you know, there's no doubt to his athleticism, right? There's no doubt to his drive and his will, right? There's things that in moments we lose our mind. They're children. And that's why I want to be very careful with their children. And this big roster thing is going to tweak noses and I understand it. But I needed to be very cautious on when I did it because I haven't had a chance to talk to the parents. They're all saying, "When are we having our team meeting?" And I'm saying, "Look, I've still like." Speaker 1 00:20:14 Have tryouts tomorrow. I don't know, you know, I don't know what what budget looks like until I know the exact number. If I only carry sixteen, then it's easy. If I am carrying eighteen, then that's a conversation we have to or. I guess i need to be clear. This isn't me worrying about is ian going to have enough numbers, right? That's not. You know, i do worry about my old team because i handed it off, but i am. Full steam ahead on my team, And making sure I have all the players that are willing to come and fight each other first. So that when we go and play others, the game's still easy, right? Right. And so you know I have this picture, and not a lot of them are going to get it. They're going to think I am crazy. Um, but I've had a lot of counterparts. You know, uh teams we've played against and and this is exactly their recipe, like look, you you almost audition weekly. Speaker 1 00:21:13 It keeps them hungry. And if somebody's not willing to do that, and they just want it easy and they want guarantees, I don't know that this is the right environment for them. Yeah. You know, um. Speaker 1 00:21:26 Yeah. Where I'm trying to take the teams. Speaker 2 00:21:29 And you look. All of my kids are good at soccer. Yeah. As of right now, this moment, not one of them is a starter. Yeah. And. I get crap from everybody that I know in the place that has kids in soccer. And all of them tell me I don't know what I am doing. And you know, but all of my kids are on better teams than all of their kids, you know. And all of my kids can outperform all of their kids, and it's largely because. I mean, Do I wish that I could put my kid on a lower level and him? Speaker 2 00:22:10 Just be a freaking star like Maddie is right now, yeah. But, the other two, just just can't do it;. They need they need to fight, and that's just how they're. But I am so I know we already had this conversation, Speaker 1 00:22:24 So I wanted to circle back with it and just make sure you knew, you know, i I didn't change my mind, But the only change that I had, so my plan quote unquote plan is through spring. I have some other kiddos right that I am on the fence with. And I don't know where they sit. Right, we're at you know twelve. Maddie Justice thirteen. Uh Elijah would be fourteen, so I have a backup keeper if I get to eighteen. Two of them are keepers, that means I have four spots three or four spots remaining. If I have six studs show up at tryouts, does that change? Speaker 1 00:23:07 Right, and that's not this isn't towards Matthew. I want you to be very clear; that's not what I am saying. Does that change the dynamic of of what I am looking at? You know, is that likely not likely? But listen, a lot of people want to be on the top team, right? Not, all of them are going to be up for the challenge of waiting their turn and fighting. Right, Matthew did that with me already once being out and early on. You know, I could tell he was frustrated. Then he went out and did the things I asked, and then I didn't take him off the field. Then he became captain. I know he has that fight in him. I just don't know the length of time it's going to take. And then that way, As long as we know what the project is healing, what the project looks like. Um what i didn't want to do is take away your opportunity to explore anything else without us having one more conversation, which we just did now to say this is what it's going to look like for my team. Speaker 1 00:24:03 All the players need to know that, not just him. You know, most of them are like, "No worries, I got it, coach." I told the boys on a Zoom call. We did a quick film thing. Um, I told them hey I am planning on carrying big roster. You guys are gonna have to fight. Okay coach? Right? You know the parents don't know that the players do. Um, but I am gonna remind them all today again at practice, and let them know what my plan is. And goal is for the boys, and you know, expect a big one. But. My long term, My my end game with this is we have one season at fall and I already have my built in eighteen. So I am not out worrying about my team in a year. Everyone else is panicking and scrambling. Speaker 2 00:24:49 No, and I completely get it. So let's, I think we can i'll ask one simple question, you give me a no BS answer, and then we can close this chapter. Right. Yep. Do you want Maddie on your team? Yes. Okay, I'm good. So So, I didn't need to ask you, But I, but that way, I can tell my wife No that he actually said, Speaker 1 00:25:13 No It's not yes. Speaker 2 00:25:15 Not that I she's the worrier. I'm I'm i i'm the one that says," I understand there's sharks, babe," but but he can swim really well Go Yeah Um. Speaker 1 00:25:25 Yeah So And and i just like i said, i just always like to be clear because, The lap and listen, it still happens. I can't tell you how many times I tell people, "Hey, you're going to come guest play," and I at nauseam tell them, "How much are you going to play?" This is a journey, but you know, you're here for fresh legs when I need them. Sometimes they play a lot. Sometimes not much. And, then it never fails ; you always have the one that complain But I told you like You know. It's it's no different than I explained. I don't promise minutes to anyone Come earn them. Speaker 1 00:26:00 Right now, more than ever, that's the new mantra with all of them that are even complacent. Right? If you're not impactful in a game, you're going to be sitting. And we'll talk about why you weren't impactful. We'll work on it in training and you'll be given opportunity. But now we've sort of crossed the line, we jumped the shark as they say and we've moved on. Now, it's we have to have results in addition to development. Development is always going to happen. That's my environment. Nobody can argue that I don't make their children better. But. Now the team has to have the results, so we can also help attract higher level players. So now it's not bringing up players and having potential and projects, It also gets some that are already competing at a high level, that'll be instant impact in making the team better. That Noah kid that came out, that played. Speaker 1 00:26:57 Is one of those that positionally doesn't know where he's supposed to be, but a really good player, right? Um, That would be an example of somebody who would be a turnkey come in now make an impact. Right. And they're coming back out Wednesday. I don't know if they're committing. I don't know what they're doing. I'm not going to surround away forever. I'm not holding spots for anyone. I just move forward. But the longer they wait, the fewer spots that are there are Right You know so That's all, I just wanted to have this one more time so that, you know, there are some weeks where he doesn't make the game day roster. Same thing with any of the players on the team. It's not going to be the same ones always;. It's going to be who's doing well in games. Speaker 2 00:27:42 Yeah, and as long as he's right as long as he's you know yeah, As long as you are committed to him, just the same way as everybody else is, right? Or the same way as you are to everybody else, and I am good. Right? So yes is the answer. Speaker 1 00:28:01 Cool. I appreciate it. Yeah, you know we're clear. That's all like I said. I didn't want you to feel like I changed my mind or anything i don't. And i am not doing that just because i already offered it. I just i really think he's going to be amazing. Um i was hopeful thatum. I was going to see more day one, and I just realized he just needs a little more time. But I've watched him rise to every occasion. So, Speaker 2 00:28:27 And and I will tell you this:. He's there's there is you and I are going to have to figure out. So, I play; I don't know; I don't think we've missed a week in the last five, six weeks. Um, but especially once we you know we play uh soccer tennisum yeah, Like an hour every Sunday at least. Um, And uh my my mantra is uh these games because there's they're, you know they're all with kids, right? They're all the way up to fourteen um on the street. It's like these games aren't won, they're lost. And they're lost by not following strategy. So here's how we're going to play it for Maddie, it's you know and they get one bounce. Um Maddie, freaking let her bounce bro. Speaker 2 00:29:17 I don't care if it look good. Let it bounce. And and it's taken me three weeks, and I think like this is this is you diving in with coach. It's taken me three weeks of just got to yell at him where he finally this yesterday was he hit one without bouncing, and he looked at me, he's like I am sorry. But there is something that's like stopping it. You know, he just cut up and so we're gonna have to figure that out. But well, Speaker 1 00:29:48 And and we will. I I have no doubt. I have a way with him, but like I just need patience from all parties while it's happening. And that's you know, that's all I'm asking for is that grace. I give him grace on, you know, when when he's a little off, knowing what he's capable of and I ask the same with uh just at the time it takes, because we don't know, you know, he is, he is a type. It might be two weeks done. Two days. All. Speaker 3 00:30:17 Right. I don't know what happened either. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:30:26 I don't know either. But anyway, long story short or short story long, We don't know the length of time, but but I'm committed to do so and I know we'll get the most out of him. We just have to be patient with it if it takes him two days, Amazing, if it takes him two weeks, so be it two months, so be it. It's not going to be a year's in the making kind of thing, right? We know that, But we just have to have him visually see what I am trying to do. All the points, you know. But he was thrust in moments: new formation, new team, new ask. Um and just didn't seem comfortable yet and And. So I didn't get a real glimpse into how he's going to fit into the system yet because he's. Speaker 1 00:31:08 He hasn't had a chance to. It's not like he hasn't played with the team before, but we've made a few huge changes, like I said. And, you and I will do some board work, so you can see actually what I am doing with the team and how we're trying to attack and approach this because it's it's like the next level. ;. It's another layer of tactical understanding and approach. But if all the pieces aren't doing what if everyone's not doing their job, we're going to fall apart. So everybody has to understand what their roles and responsibilities are. Speaker 1 00:31:39 And if you just do your job only, coach is happy. Don't do everyone else's job. Do your job. This is what your job looks like. Do it at the highest level you can, and as long as everybody's doing that, we won't have those breakdowns. Like I said, The two goals conceded early on against Willie's team was simply one of the six is not shifting to close down because I took away the natural width. The reason we did better second half. Is I just matched them up man for man, uh, three two three. Just because it was it was over their head and I didn't have enough chance in time to explain it to Matthew and Justice and Remy and all these players who don't normally play with us. And I just had to figure out how to win. So we abandoned our strategy and tactic. And lined them up man for man because I go well, man for man we're better. Right? Speaker 1 00:32:36 And so it will just do that, but long term development, that's not it. Sometimes you have to coach a game just to win a game. And I could not lose to them, right? Because we would never live it down. So I threw the baby out with the bathwater and said, "Okay three two three you You know who your mark is. You know who your mark is. Let's just go. " Because, otherwise they're marking space and being aware of of where they're supposed to be on the field. And then picking up the mark once they enter that space and then tracking that runner, but it wasn't happening. So anyway, okay, we'll talk more. I'll show you that, but yes is the answer. But um but ultimately, the team snap stuff, all that stuff's happening once I have a conversation with the black team, which hasn't happened. Um and then I've just been inundated with calls and stuff with tryouts and said, okay, well, trying to help. Speaker 1 00:33:35 Big picture club stuff, and I just have to tell them all," Hey, this is what's happening. Big roster." So then when they start to see these names added, they don't sit and panic. Right? Because what is a team? Oh, we don't have another keeper role. Yes we do. Oh who's this? So, you know, because then they all start creating their own narratives, and that's when you have problems. I just like everyone knowing exactly what I'm doing. Speaker 2 00:33:59 Okayum so yeah, no problem. Just until we get the team staff stuff done. You know, my fear is is like you are going to send out like," Hey, uh, we got rained out," and I want all the kids to do X. And then I don't get it and we feel not included. Right? Speaker 1 00:34:16 So make sure that practice gets like included. Yeah yeah That's all I'll make sure you are included in everything. Yep no worries So this week we're Monday normal Monday Wednesday Thursday five to six thirty Kramer Um today I am ending fifteen minutes early because I am going out to dinner for my birthday. Um, today your birthday with the fem. It is happy birthday. That was thank you. That was not my way of telling you no, no, Speaker 2 00:34:40 No. But it's five zero isn't it? Speaker 1 00:34:43 What? No forty eight. Speaker 2 00:34:46 Huh? Forty eight For some reason I thought I made a joke born in seventy eight, Seventy. Okay, so then you've got two years on me. I made a joke last year and you were like, no, I am like You know all right i remember it this way, Which tells you about my memory that you said like no I'm, you know almost and I must have gone. I must have thought it was. Speaker 1 00:35:09 I joke about I'm closer to fifty than I'm not right. I always say that when people ask me, but yeah, but yeah, soum we're going out to dinner. So I will cut out about fifteen minutes early, so six, fifteen, um but we haven't trained, it's been raining and I just, i have to get the boys out and together, and we have new kids showing up. It's just like the least opportune time to cancel practice. So. Okay, so we're out today, Wednesday. You do not have to go to tryouts tomorrow ; that's an optional thing for him. And I've talked Ian knows what's going on. I told him the players I am taking, so it's not like he's completely in the dark. But at the same time, he needs these bodies as he settles everyone else's nerves. So we're just you know trying to. Speaker 1 00:35:59 A mass exodus because the numbers didn't look good before I had a chance to see who's going where. Meaning, the new players. All right, Speaker 2 00:36:06 I get that. Speaker 1 00:36:07 So so okay, Speaker 2 00:36:10 So Wednesdays at five o'clock as well? Speaker 1 00:36:13 Same same at always five. I am always five to six thirty at Kramer Monday Wednesdays Thursdays unless you hear otherwise. We are working on a scrimmage this weekend if that doesn't happenum, Based on availability, we have two that can't play. Kind of, and um, They're going to play the team that just smashed the red team over the weekend. Um, then my plan would be just to do like a small side of Saturday. Just go out to Kremer on the R field and set up my my aluminum goals and let people pick their own teams and just play. Uh, you know, friendlies. Set up two fields kind of thing. Um. Speaker 1 00:36:57 Both my team and Ian's team, and have at it. Pick your team, go play. So at least they're active, And I can you know I think free play is something that's lacking in this country anyway without much instruction. Just throw some balls down and let them go at it, let them get creative, let them read the game. Rightum so I'll let you know what happens there, either a scrimmage or small sided game. Speaker 2 00:37:21 You said that Sunday Saturday Saturday what What time are you thinking? Do you know? Speaker 1 00:37:26 I don't know, but I'll let you know. Speaker 2 00:37:28 Okay, I am only asking my uh. I am looking. I think I told you my best friend's dad died, and so that funeral was on Saturday. So trying to, I don't think my kids are going to go. Um, eleven. Speaker 1 00:37:39 I am looking at the calendar; it was elevenum And if you can't, no worries; it's not the end of the world; he's not missing anything. Speaker 2 00:37:45 Okay, now just got to orchestrate that— that's all soum but uh okay cool. So Saturday eleven Monday Wednesday Thursday and I think we're good? Speaker 1 00:37:56 Yeah, and and you still actually, and I said yes. I definitely want them. There is no doubt in that. Soum, I just and I appreciate you this stuff too. I just i didn't want it midseason, you know, angry phone calls when we didn't talk about things. But, i will. My commitment is we'll at least continue to communicate as it goes and say, here is where we're falling short here is what we need to do that way. It's not. I mean, that's the only way to fairly to do it, right? Yeah. Speaker 1 00:38:25 Or hey, Is excelling here now? Let's fit. Let's work on this. Like where are the deficiencies and can he improve them? Right. And, if he does zero to get better at those things away from my practice, and that's on him. If I never tell him what they are, that's on me. Right. So cool there, Speaker 2 00:38:43 I like it right on All right? I'll see you later. Yeah thank you. B. Ye- bye. Speaker 2 00:43:15 That makes sense. Period. Speaker 2 00:43:47 I must not have communicated that well. Period. There are a couple of areas that it is definitely coming underneath the coping and into the pool. Period. I will send you some pics. Speaker 2 00:44:26 It seems like the water is pooling in certain areas. Speaker 3 00:44:54 On the grass. Speaker 2 00:45:14 And then when it gets to a certain level, it makes its way underneath the coping and into the pool. Period. I'll send you some pics. Speaker 3 00:45:57 A little bit later.
